Dish pro plus separator

Is there any reason why this separator wouldn't work on non-DISH receivers like the description says?

I need to split a single cable to feed a dual tuner receiver - but it's a canadian branded one. I don't see how they could "lock" it so it could only work on DISH, but I want to make sure.

If its a ExpressVu 9200 as long as you have a DPP Twin it will work fine

Dish makes ExpressVu's receivers

The separator do split a signal by freq range - Hi on one output, Lo - other, not duplicate whole spectrum as a splitter.
