Dish Network 21.0 Learning Remote Instructions

Existing Dish remote codes have always worked fine with my Onkyo receivers, have you checked all the AUX 2+___ codes in the list under Onkyo ?

My prob. was with Toshiba HD DVD player, got that going with Device scan. As for the Onkyo, I had it going with code #788 and when I went to learn some more functions, I discovered that they were already working.

I thought these were the two-way remotes that can store all your settings and then transmit those settings to other (compatible) receivers.

Am I wrong?

Your not all wrong, the new 722K model, I think thats the one, can do this. Maybe new software will allow older 622s and 722s to store settings.

YES!:up BTW, I was able to teach it a couple of functions that were missing in TV mode and got it working with my Sony AV.:)

Thats good. I learned all my tv functions, as I didn't know the code to use, it was not listed in the 722 manual, but is listed in the 21.0 instructions, except the TV name and the codes are pages apart. How do we know which code goes with each tv,etc.?

Now all we need is the marketing guys at Dish Network to explain why they went from "6" to "21" ???

21st Century remote, model 0??????????;)

Gee.. I didn't realize the old remotes were from the 6th century??

I was going to add features (program the remote to get into the TV's menu) to the 21.0 but I deceided not to. I am using it in the bedroom to work an Olevia HDTV. I got to thinking that my wife would get all messed up. I figure it would be safer to just have it work the TV's on/off and volume and nothing more. Nothing other than a 211 is hooked to that TV anyway.

I was able to get ALMOST all the TV functions with both my Olevias (242T and 247TFHD) by using the code 578. I did need to program the UP and DOWn channel buttons to spin the wheel for the menu and programmed Display with the LIVE TV button, and LIGHT with the # button. What model Olevia do you have? Gonna try 578 with my sisters' 237T but that might not happen for awhile.

Good question Dan. I hope Scott will be able to rescan that manual that DISH should've supplied 2 pages at a time.

622 and 722 already have the two-way remote software (as mentioned in the other 21.0 remote threads).

To access it, press Menu, Menu again, and then click on "next".

Yep. Been there, doing that. We got over a foot of snow Thursday night and several more inches last night as well as high winds blowing all that winter wonderland around.:( See what yer missing out there in sunny CA.
