H388 - Hopper 3 - 02/19/2025

There are no compatibility issues with the 40 remote with the standard Hopper 3. It's just the Hopper+ that introduces them.

Right, but I was clarifying for Pepper's post. He said his wife wants the H+ removed and he questioned if the 40.0 would work without it. I was giving my actual experience without the Plus box ....

The 40 remote will work with the Hopper 3. But does not work well with the Hopper Plus and will never be officially supported.

Their agreement with Google is supposed to require a voice remote be used with the Hopper Plus.

Absolutely, stupidity on Dish's part.
So I guess Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo are all stupid because they aren't using the game pads from their original consoles as well right?

I guess all the TV manufacturers are stupid for not using the remotes that came with their original tvs too huh. Oh wait that would be no remote.

Things change...

That is not a good analogy. No one is saying that there have to be SD and HD versions just that there should be a label.

I just went back and looked I thought the person saying it's stupidity was referring to the 40.0 remote not working on hopper plus, but he wasn't. My bad.

But the statement still stands for those complaining about the remotes lol

What's so important about the label.
You either watch it or you don't.
I don't know. Maybe some people just want to know which is which instead of having to check them out first. If the SD channels go away that would be a good time to eliminate the designation.

In any event, when in the guide, the HD/SD designation still appears at the bottom of the program information box on the right. At least for now.
