Dish Model 942 - L2.27 Software Update

Does anyone know what issues are being addressed in the 942 software release due tomorrow.

no, one lets you set limits on how many episodes of any one program your unit stores, this way for example your kids have your 942 set to record all episodes of spongebob, your 942 could fill up quick, however with the new software you can tell it you only want the last 5 episodes of spongebob, and the 942 would only keep the most 5 recent episodes.

The second new feature lets you specify the default extended timers, this means at the moment you want to start recirding 4 minutes before a show starts and stop recording 5 minutes after the show is done you would need to set that option each time, now with the new software you can specify a set default so you need not set it every time.

I've also heard that the aspect ratio button may work on HD channels. Hopefully that is true.

I'm hoping it fixes the missing program guide data for local channels problem in many markets. I was told that the next software update would fix this. Fingers crossed it actually does.

I would be surprised to see the OTA PG and TV output problems corrected with L2.27, but I'll keep my fingers crossed. Also, it would be nice to check VOOM transponder signal levels on 61.5.

It's one minute before, three minutes AFTER, and I've never understood: what is wrong with that? Especially with name-based recording that expands with the size of the show as detected by the downloaded EPG...

Dish Model 942 - L227 Update

your gonna need to do a check switch after this software download.. i had to for mine.. it couldnt find any sats in the aquireing sat sig screen after download..... witch a check switch fixed.. a noticable fix in this one also is now i have Odd transponders for 61.5 with the evens

Wow is rainbow one weaker than echo 3!!!! Echo 3 im getting all 100's + on rainbow 1 im getting 80's + .... More Tps are avaib from rainbow 1 now but programming is not.. and alot of open tps.. too.

Still No analog channels allowed in the digital Scan

Still no Games in Dish Home ch 100 for the 942
Added an incactivity standby mode.. This feature powers off the reciver after inactivity duration.. hours inactivity

in the create timer screen it now shows you priority of your timer that your setting like for mine it said 18 of 18, It looks like you can now set maximum events for a timer.. so you stuff wont fill youre hd... other than that it looks all good.. No idea what bugs were fixed this is just a im looing through menus to see what was added...

Yep, I seem to have L227 now.

you can find the maximum recorded events option in the timer options menue.. from there you can change the max record count... it will remove the oldest unprotected events for that timer after a Specifyed amount of events...
