I worked on my dishes last nightThey have their pro's and con's. I find stronger signals with the WA
And on WA my signals are 65 - 77
On Eastern Arc signals are from 33 - 60. The Western Arc is a lot more powerful.

That's kind of weird Scott given the fact that you live in Conn. I would have thought that the EA would have been stronger Oh-well, I'll just chauk that up to my not having enough knowledge in this area.
Nope its not that way, in fact looking over my signal reading with a DMA Average sheet someone sent me about a month ago it looks like this is the norm On WA the signals show an avg of 72... while on the EA the signals show an avg of 57 on 72.7.
i currently have all mpeg4 receivers but setup on 110/119/129 and live in the nashville, tn dma area what will happen with my setup should i have easten arc or western arc my locals are on 129 and i lose that satellite everytime it is cloudy or it rains dish is mounted on roof and there is no problem with line of sight.
Isn't the comparison a little more complicated than that since the receiver signal meter shows quality and not strength? And on WA my signals are 65 - 77

So, if all the HD Channels are leaving 61.5 and going to 72, what will all the Conus bandwidth from E15 be used for?
And if our locals are not on 61.5, what would be lose by dropping 61.5? (curious because I'd like to go 72/77/110/119 in order to get SD & HD distances).

Most of the Western Arc transponders are still QPSK, but Eastern Arc is predominantly 8PSK-Turbo?
Edit: Doh! HD Roberts already point this out and I missed it on the first read-through. Sorry!
Try doind a check switch test (menu, 6, 1, 1), that should do it, otherwise it sounds like your receiver has issues.
No worries, although I wish someone that has 72.7 and 129 (there is probably not many) can test my postulate.
I believe someone posted that Dish has stated that such a configuration would eventually cause technical troubles. But many are doing it. Dish just won't authorize setting it up that way any more.is my set up safe. i have 110/119/61.5/72.7
Not completely! There's E12, formerly known as Rainbow 1, which has 12 spotbeam transponders, 8 (?) of which are currently in service for HD locals.I don't see any other reason for moving HD channels from 61 to 72 since both 61 and 72 are both EA and both are completely conUS.
