Dish Equipment - is it worth anything??

Hello Everyone!

I was a Dish subscriber for years up until a few years ago when we couldn't get it at our current location. So we had to go with local cable at the time. We're moving and I ran across our Dish equipment - a Dish 500 and a 301 receiver with remote (strangely, found two smartcards? not sure what's up with that). The account is clear and has been since we disconnected. Is it worth anything at this point to sell or is it basically a giant paperweight? If it's sale-able, how much should I expect to get?

Best bet is to go to ebay. Your 301 might be worth $30 and the same for the D500. You could also list it on craigslist or something similar.

sell it on ebay as long as smartcards are yellow and say dish 500 on them
since out of stream for awhile its a treasure trove for hackers
all the people want is your old out of stream yellow cards, sell them on ebay for as much as you can sell cards with 301 receiver as ebay doesnt allow sale of just card
