I want to know if any current customers have sucessfully been able to switch to the Dish Network Digital Home Advantage Plan.

I have been a Dish customer for 5 years. I saw on their website that I could save money with the Digital Home Advantage. (See http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/...ges/index.shtml -- Specifically look at the link where it says "*Monthly package pricing varies with the Digital Home Advantage promotion. Click here to learn more.")

I have 4 receivers, the Top 180 with locals, and HBO. I spend $81.95 per month + tax. On the Digital Home Advantage Pricing Guide, it shows that I could pay only $74.99 for this same package and get Cinemax to boot!!! I called to switch to this pricing plan and was told it was only for new customers, even though I see nowhere on the website where this is stated.

I complained to the customer service rep that this wasn't as if I'm asking for free equipment or anything. I just want the same rate structure available to new customers!

Have any existing Dish customer out there successfully gotten Dish to move them to this plan? If so, how?

Thanks in advance...

It would be cheaper because you would have Dual Tuner receivers as a New DHA customer. You have 4 receivers thus you pay $10.00 more a month in receiver fee's than if you had 2 dual tuners.

That should be the only difference in price. The only way to become a NEW DHA customer is to drop service for 90 days then sign up as a DHA.

Ahh...I see now. The material I've seen on this plan is sorta misleading (at least to me).

I don't know about that dropping them for 90 days bit. I've read that there is no time period that classes you as new. Once a DISH customer, always a customer- you only get to be a new customer once.

You won't be a new customer you will be a returning customer. You don't always get exactly the same offer as a new customer but you will sign up as a DHA customer and you may have a two year contract as a returning customer. :)

Its not 90 days thats for sure, more like 8 months but still a returning customer, however there is a way around this that I see alot.

You must be talking about signing your spouse up as the new customer. ;)
