I like that idea as the Starz Kids is in the movie pack, plus if you get the movie pack and have at least one Starz channel, the on demand content is available streaming. Adding Starz to either AT250 or the Movie pack would be a great idea.

'Frequently' he posts in almost every thread he participates in how he streams all varieties of services on all varieties of devices and how much better it is than satellite. Just look at his postings from his profile page and you'll see what I mean. He's even in the DirecTV forum preaching streaming there too.
Maybe if he got a Hopper he'd realize how much better it is to have a real DVR instead of pushing the 'virtues' of streaming constantly.
The 211k with the outboard DVR feature is perfect for a single guy. Having the outboard HDD and the OTA tuner, works fine. Add in the Fire Stick/Roku/Chromecast, No extra fees to pay either.
Like I said, you really should get a Hopper 3 which is a real DVR. Then you could watch real TV. Record or watch 16 things at the same time instead of the ONE thing you can do with your 211, watch 4 shows at once with MultiView, auto-skip commercials and do everything else a Hopper 3 can do. Then maybe you wouldn't feel the need to preach about how great streaming is on almost every thread you participate in. It might be great for you but that sure isn't the case for everyone here on the DISH Network Support Forum.
It's actually how good the H3 is that keeps me from going to streaming only. Fast forward and rewind is terrible on Amazon and Netflix compared to the H3, and I don't think that I could take having to sit through commercials on some of the other streaming services.
I seem to remember trying to talk him into upgrading to a Wally on at least one occasion. That sounds like it would be perfect for him: it would give him the new Hopper interface with on-demand, plus double the number of tuners for recording (after adding the dual-tuner OTA adapter) and still no monthly fees. I hear you. I have two TV's in my bedroom. One TV is connected to a Wally, and the other one is connected to a Hopper Duo. So, this is my work-around for having side-by-side PIP. This way, I am almost always watching at least two things at once. Since the Hopper Duo actually has PIP (the Wally does not) I could even be watching three things at the same time.The Hopper 3 is awesome. Brother I don't think your trying to upset anyone. Some people here take TV way to seriously.
If it bothers someone that much there is a feature called ignore. If said people don't want to use that feature that's on them.

That would be overkill for me. 16 tuners? Okay, everyone is different. Streaming is not for everyone. I will back off from that. I do feel that satellite and cable is not the future though. My concern is, as more cut the cord, where is Dish going to get the money to invest in new channels? What is Dish going to be in another 5-10 years?
The reason I did not look at a Wally, is no OTA tuner available at that time. Add to that, when the OTA dongle started up, people complained it did not work near as well as the OTA tuner in the 211k and it was not near as sensitive. I do not want to pay any DVR fees either. One reason out of many, I have stuck it out with the 211k, as I only pay for programming period. Why give my money Dish just because they can charge extra if I have more tuners? That is a rip off in my book. I don't lease. I buy everything, so why should there be any fees regarding something I own?
Thanks. Glad to know that.I just didn't want people ticked off at me. I have been on the list for quite a while, and I am always happy to give advice and take advice. Streaming works with me, but I like Dish and have no plans on getting rid of it. I guess in terms, I am a cord shaver. I have been with Dish now for 20 years, back in the day of Dish 300. Where else can I get the programming for what I pay, and have access to the Super Stations (Grandfathered).

As far as knowing what Dish will be 5 to 10 years from now, who knows. Do you know where you'll be 5 or 10 years from now? I hope I'm still on the planet but that's as far as I know.
I'll make a guess at this, and say that Dish will probably be mostly streaming through Wally, Hopper, and/or whatever other new boxes Dish comes up with in the meantime.

True, but with over a million subs from satellite & cable jumping ship in the first 3 months is a bit much for the industry to hold if it continues. Some streaming prices have gone up, but others haven't. But as you said, at 5-10 years from now who knows if any of us will be here. Good point.
The question is, can the people trying to disrupt the traditional business make enough of an impact that the established players start exiting the business before the disrupters either run out of money or have to raise prices to the point that they aren't nearly as attractive as they once were?
I do agree with that, and it seems that many others do too. I feel like real-time broadcast TV will go away eventually. The question is how soon. I feel like it is still 20 years or more away. Maybe streaming options will be better by then.
