Dish and Starz?

With Starz and Encore "back" - now being advertised, the premium movies choices don't look so bad even without HBO. Remember I was an extremely long time subscriber to HBO but I have realized I'm not missing it enough to even subscribe online. Maybe for renewing original content I would subscribe for awhile but even that is fading.

On my computers..

If you are using Chrome you may need to zoom in for the final tab for Offers to appear, at top on your Programming page.
In IE Offers is listed with the other choices there are not tabs.

What do you call Dish Anywhere? Dish programs stream, right?

Dish Anywhere has nothing to do with the way you jump into almost every thread preaching how great you stream with all your different devices and services. I'm sure there's places where you can extol the greatness of your stream other than the Dish Network Support Forum.

To be fair, mwdxer1 does frequently mention how he uses Dish Anywhere to stream on-demand Dish content, since he only has a ViP211k, with no way to access on-demand through a Dish receiver. So, as long as he keeps his posts somewhat relevant to Dish (even in a tangential way) I have no problem with him posting here.

I dont see why Dish just not include STARZ in the Americas Top 250 package.
This would make the package more appealing and I believe more people would subscribe to the package
. Currently there is not much there in 250 to make me jump. IMHO....

'Frequently' he posts in almost every thread he participates in how he streams all varieties of services on all varieties of devices and how much better it is than satellite. Just look at his postings from his profile page and you'll see what I mean. He's even in the DirecTV forum preaching streaming there too.

Maybe if he got a Hopper he'd realize how much better it is to have a real DVR instead of pushing the 'virtues' of streaming constantly. :)

Maybe because there are no HD versions?
Nope, EVERY network feed of Encore (& Starz) has been available in HD for at least a year now. Cox cable is one of the few providers to offer EVERY one in HD now.
The simple answer - SAME reason why umpteen OTHER channels on E* (or D*, or pick any other provider...) are still NOT in HD - because a deal was NOT reached TO add them in HD!

I'll dust of my points from 2010 to 2012. Time to get rid of SD. Get everyone over to the Hopper. When connected to an old CRT, the Hopper does a nice job converting the image through composite cables. I had a ratty old Panasonic in my bedroom, until my wife and I got a deal on Toshiba 4K 43 inch with Fire TV build in. As a 15 inch, that old Panasonic displayed our Joey quite well considering how outdated it was.

Remove all the SD channels that have HD counterparts. That way HD viewers can have it their way and SD viewers can still watch the content. Time to end archaic practices. After all, most SD feeds are widescreen HD feeds only downscaled. The only benefit I see with having SD is during rain fade. When a HD feed will go out, the Hopper will switch to the SD feed. I experience it more regularly living in New England and being on the EA.

I must admit I do get a bit carried away with the streaming, but being an older duck, the world of TV how it has evolved i feel like a kid in a candy store. If I upset anyone, I am sorry. I do post on streaming sites too. I started with my big dish back in 1985, which I still have, but with Dish & the streaming, it is getting to the point, the big dish is not being used much now. Thank you for the kind words.
