Watching the Apple WWDC event today and I notice that DISH and Apple seem to be working with each other today.

First a big plug for SlingTV, and then the introduce of Single Sign on for AppleTV and iOS, where you log on once and see all the channels which are available to you... For this demo they used a DISH log on.

Kind of cool to see DISH up there in the spotlight. :)

To me, I feel like working with SlingTV is somewhat of an admission on Apple's part that it's very difficult to put together a competitive IPTV package, and that Apple (at this time) is probably better off partnering with someone (Dish/Sling) that has more expertise in the TV field.

This article probably explains why Sling was showcased at WWDC this year. Apple and Dish have partnered to launch SlingTV on the 4th Gen AppleTV. If you pay for 3 months of SlingTV upfront ($60) you get the AppleTV for $89, so it's basically the same price, just with "free" SlingTV.

Joeys reboot on start-up.
