okay, let me clarify, when you said local channel are included, do you mean local SD channels or local HD channels are included with that $34.99?

And how do I know for sure if my state has local channels in HD or not?

Click on TheList! at the top of this page, then "Subscription List", then "DISH Network Markets"...click on the link for your city/state...you will see which channels and which satellite those channels are in HD. 61-72-77 are eastern arc satellites, and 110-119-129 satellites are western arc.
