dish 522 change password greyed out

I wanted to put a password on my sons receiver (got it off of ebay)
It's a 522, I can check the ratings lock, lock programs, but the change password
option is greyed out.
I never put a passcode (numbers) in.. ?

What to do ?

Select "Lock System", it will ask you to create a password. Since you have never created a password there is nothing to change!
