I noticed on the top of the D1000.2/D1000Plus there is a hole. Is that or can that be used to mount a OTA and which one. Also how well do the TERK TV44 work?

If that hole is for anything, it's more than like made for the TERK antennas. I'm not the biggest fan of their reception. I'm sure others will chime in with their opinion and/or input. With you being right in Columbus, I'm going to guess your reception for the locals should be adequate.
