Comapnay fiscal years vary widely. In DTV's case their year si January 1 to December 31.

Clearly stated in my post "DEPENDS on the company" and assume that they opperate on CALENDAR

I dunno, what did I miss, lol?

nvmd, All I did was read your post. I didn't realize that in the previous page, someone was actually from chico-redding.

The other 90% of potential customers that don't need an HD MPEG4 box. Remember the MPEG4 rollout will be very very slow and the only people that will need one is when LILHD is added to their market. national mpeg4 will not be added until 2007 (at least I think that's right)

Well, I have a friend in Dallas, Texas that has a HR10-250 upstairs in "his" room & a Sony SATHD300 downstairs. Since Dallas is in the 1st group, we'll see how D* handles it. I just sent him an email...we'll see...I don't think he really wants to get rid of his TiVo.

ok this lead to think,
they could sell the old stb to people who sign up a new customers, and give me them the hd stb, for a used price or free,
and the customers get an working sd tuner, and gets an working OTA hd tuner, :)
so the new customers get an option to get 3 rooms SD for free, or get an hd stb for a used price, huh

Also this all MPEG4 News lead me to think that, If u have your locals now in SD from directv, and directv launches the locals in hd in your area, and u have an hd stb, then u will be automatically get the MPEG4 even if u not request it ?
like directv will be calling u at your home and try to setup an install date.

also wondering if the locals in hd will cost extra, or do u have to have locals in SD to get the locals in hd, ?,

HD-LIL is added to your package at no cost if you subscribe to your SD-LIL.

Also, with the exception of the markets this year, since it has been said that all HD users would be converted over by early 2006 for the national HD channels, then most likely those subs who subscribe to their SD-LIL and have their market's HD-LIL added would simply wake up with them turned on since they'd already have an MPEG-4 HD receiver and the new dish.

I have 2 HD receivers. Will D* replace both my receivers to the MPEG4 units? I switched from Dish to Direct about 4 months ago.

Thank for clearing that up for me. No doubt I meant you cant have a Dish Network HD receiver and believe your going to get a new Mpeg4 Receiver from Directv. ;)
