I got my wii a couple of days ago and while i love the Wii sports I cant stand playing anything else on it. The graphics are horrible. I got the component hookups and made sure its in 480p but it still is amazingly bad. In fact i think that the 64 had better graphics. I knew that the graphics wouldnot be xbox quality but i think they could have made it a little better. Anyone else feel this way?

Nope, dont even notice the graphics since the sameplay is so good, the only thing I miss is a "Live" type setup where I can play against others over the network.

Thats about the only thing missing from the WII.

I would have to agree with Scott. I love to play Wii sports. My daughters love the few games that they have for it also. I just can't wait to see what they can do with the motion controllers in the future.

I'll buy it from you if you want. :D I've been looking for a Wii.

If you really have the components, a HDTV, and the Wii set to 480p then you are just trolling. Zelda looks amazing. Wii sports looks simple because it was designed to get non-gamers to play.

Online is coming. Nintendo wasn't ready at launch. The 1st game with online is Pokemon Battle Revolution. After it launches, online will become standard.

That is what the Wii codes will be used for, so make sure you post yours.

Yea i do have the component cables but when i set it to 480p it doesnt look any better, in fact it wont even pick up the widescreen i have to set my tv to stretch it. And when i go to the menu it sayts that it is in 480p and 16:9 i dont get it.

thats all you get for a 250$ console..i myself don't have one...i heard tons of plasma tv's screen are broke lawl...
I myself have a 60GB PS3 (launch date one) and a xbox 360 20GB(got it on November 06)
Currently im happy with the 2 consoles..i was thinking about the wii but i don't want to deal with crappy graphics...and i sure don't want to break my LCD screen :)

and i sure don't want to break my LCD screen :)

After playing the Wii with my daughters over the past week, I can't see how people are breaking their TV's with the controllers. They must have had a malfunction within their brain during that time. I mean when you are pitching the baseball you don't need to let go of the controller to throw the ball.

I've seen and played the Wii at a friends on a 60inch HDtv, through component cables and set to 480p. All the games look great IMO and I have a 360 on an HD set at home. Sure the graphics are not gonna be mindblowing, but I think they look darn good.

I was kind of thinking the same thing. I have 3 boys, and we have played Wii sports a lot this past week. We have yet to throw a controller or even have it slip out of our hands.

So i know this is an old post, but i wondered if any of the original posters have changed ther mind.

Did the wii get old fast ?
Online did it make it better, if so how much ?.

I added the component cables, bought extra contoller and nunchuck, wanted to know what games maximize this platform from some seasoned users.

Im still dont love it, but i do play super mario 64 on it alot. Im waiting for Super Mario Galaxy to come out, that shuld be amazing.

Got my fiancee Spyro for her birthday last week, the Wii has now been hooked up for the first time in ~5 months.

I am not disappointed, because I didn't have high hopes to begin with. It will never be the console that I buy Madden for, it will only be for the exclusive or party-type games, and even then, we're in no rush to get Galaxy, RE4, etc.

The kids love the Wii. With a pair of 360s in the house as well, would I ever buy a Wii game that's available on the 360? No! But some of the Wii exclusives? Absolutely. Carnival Games, Wii Play , and Wii Sports are a big hit when we have family gatherings on our home.

Wii Code: 2599 2454 0101 8188.

So this wii code is going to be kind of like the xbox live "friend" feature? You have to enter in a long wii code to add a friend?

I have had Zelda collecting dust for 5 months, waiting for me to play it...the little bit of gaming I have played in the last six months has been Civ IV with expansion packs on PC, Gears of War and now Halo3 on Xbox360... one day I'll get around to Zelda... hopefully before it is obsolete :)

gotta love the media hype... you don't hear about the millions that knew how to hold the controller in their hand and/or actually use the strap. Nope.. the media only talks about the few that threw their controller threw the TV like idiots.

Get yourself a wii... you'll be fine.
