DirecTV (NASDAQ:DTV) and Disney (NYSE:DIS) sign a widely-anticipated multi-platform deal.
The deal will give DirecTV subscribers wide access to Disney, ESPN, and ABC shows on linear TV and through the company's Watch service.
Disney content will also be available for VOD purchase.

Awesome news, been missing my WatchESPN, I had it when I had Verizon for Internet, then switched to Time Warner, and haven't had it in 2+ years, so I can't wait for it to be available. Can't watch my Notre Dame basketball since they moved to the ACC, and those games are on ESPN3 now, use to be on ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU all the time.

Does anyone know if LHN will be hd or sd full time and what package it's included in? Or is it considered a RSN?

There's Charlie's way of negotiating (drop channels while negotiating) and then there is DirecTV. Amazing that one provider can negotiate in a friendly manner while the other....
Not single Disney owned channel was ever dropped or blacked out during Dish's extended beyond contract several months long negotiations with Walt Disney Co that resulted in nearly the identical agreement as DirecTV's. As if DirecTV never dropped a whole slew (12, I believe) of Viacom channels like MTV. etc. during its last negotiations with Viacom. That one was the KING of dropped channels. quite jaw dropping. And there were more DirecTV dropped channels over the last few years along with every Cable Co having dropped channels for a period, as well for the last several years. Glad DirecTV was not forced to take down channels with Disney.

So you think ....
The Viacom one was the biggest that D* has ever had of dropped channels and most of use didn't miss them.

You keep spouting all these channels that D* continually lose, better start naming them because normally you don't see D* drop them ... every once in a while, yes, thats NOTHING like Dish negotiations.

Viacom and Versus and some sporadic locals are the only major disputes I can recall. Shall we list channels dropped permanently or for months or not even carried by Dish? Pac12 is the only major channel dish has that we don't that I can think of. Try again.

Dish lost quite a few of Disney's HD channels during that time. I know they had the SD channels still, but SD looks like hot garbage on any HD set bigger than 40". I'm not paying to watch stretched out SD when I have a nice TV in my living room.

Also, the worst BS I've seen a provider pull during a dispute was when Dish pulled FX just before a new season of Sons of Anarchy aired 4-5 years ago. Instead of the typical screen to show who they want you to contact during the dispute, they decided to run the HDNet feed, while keeping the FX info in the guide and acting like nothing happened. Sorry, but that's just flat lying to customers. I dropped Dish at that time and didn't look back.

Dish Major Channels dropped= AMC Lineup(3 channels), Turner Channels minus the TBS/TNT(6 channels), Thats all I can think of right now.
Directv Major Channels dropped= TWC(1 channel), Viacom(17 channels), Thats all I can think of right now.

This is since 2011. This does not include ANY locals, as those are not going to be large scale, since they are DMA based only. If you have more that may have been dropped since 2011, would be interested in seeing. Discontinued channels such as Speed and G4, not included.
