Well I'm a bit mad right now. After one week of not receiving the roku I called them last week to get an update on it and they apologized and were sending one out right away. Well today comes and I come home to a ups package with only an hdmi cable but no roku? I don't understand what's going g on here. How did everyone else receive their roku? I'll be calling them first thing tomorrow morning .

Haha I spoke too soon because it came in the mail the same day. So far its working extremely well.
 
Just called today and got the Roku, HDMI cable, and $10 off/12 month.
They also offered the 1/2 priced HBO etc, but I declined.

Better than nothing... ;-)

The HDMI arrived by UPS a week later, and the Roku XD arrived via USPS a few days after.

No idea if Dish did said about not shipping to PR...but when I chatted with Dish Loyalty....on 1st July...I got approved for Roku. Its another matter that I havent received it till now...but I check couple of time...& Dish CSR acknowledge that I have Roku approved...& that I should be receiving it soon (moved from overnight to 3-5 business days to 7-10 business days). In the end...Dish did acknowledge that being in PR...shipping will be a bit delayed for some reason.

so yes....Dish did give Roku to a PR sub although still waiting for it....But IMO..you got a better deal....more credits off your bill considering you already have Roku.

I will wait whole of this week & if havent received will check back sometime next week.

I am in Puerto Rico, it took a bit over a week...give it time.... ;)
 
I just got the free roku box plus an offer to cover the season charge for Walking Dead, Mad Men, The Killing or whatever I decided to watch thru Amazon. According to the CS lady the box will be here in 3 working days and then all I need to do is call and tell Dish what I have paid for and they will give me credit on my billing for that amount.

Sounds like they are doing a lot to keep their customers!

Sorry to say that so far no Roku. I was told on the 4th that I would get one within 5 working days so I phoned and asked on the 16th and was told it would ship within 10 working days of the 4th. Now we are 12 working days later and no indication of shipment.

Guess it's time for another phone call.

I had a similar issue. I had to call 3 times and was finally transferred to 'account specialist'. Seems all Roku's need to have some sort of account specialist manager approval and not all of these approval requests have been "sent in the correct way" to the manager. After I did that I received the Roku (and HDMI cable and $10 off 12 months) within 3 days.

Next time you call ask for an Account Specialist to discuss the Roku status.

Wow....that was a surprise. It was approved on 1st with overnight shipping. Didnt receive it..so called on 3rd...was told to expect it in 3-5 business day...did receive it...called again...was told to expect in...7-10 business day....still waiting..& today when I call back...they told me...no shipping to PR. :cool:

Anyway,were you able to get credits or other promos?
 
If I call and get this free roku player and $10 credit, will they add any time to my contract? What is my contract is already up, will they add time to it?

No.This offer is just to make up for the loss of shows of channels that were dropped.No contract extension involved.

Well...initially on 1st....when they approved roku for me...they gave me $5 for 3 months. & today..when Dish said they cant ship me Roku here in PR...they gave me $25 for inconvience to me.

I keep telling them that they have given $10 for 12 months to others..but nada. Maybe because in April I got HBO & Starz for 6 months for half price.

Anyway...I will not bother again with dish for Roku. Already talked to them 4 times from 1st till today. Fells bad.
 
I had to do a chat this morning due to an electrical storm last night taking out my 922, (fan just runs continuously), figured as long as I was there, I'd ask about the Roku. They told me I had to call the 800#. I called and after talking to 2 different reps and waiting on hold, they are sending me a Roku. They first offered a $20 one time credit and I think $5 for 6 months but I told them my wife was pissed because she couldn't see her AMC shows and that pushed them through, I guess. I am still under contract for 15 more months, so not just for out of contract subs.

I tried the chat twice, they told me that I had to call the loyalty department at 18003333474 (I guess they are not giving out that new Dish number anymore?) I called it and selected the option that I wanted to cancel service. Told them that I was missing the shows that AMC has and would like a Roku box. Without any hassle she gave it to me, was very very polite and also said she was giving me $35 one time credit and $10 off for 12 months without asking for the credits. She asked if I had an HD television and I said yes and she said that I would be able to get the programs in HD and that the Roku would come with an HDMI cable and that it would be shipped UPS.

I love this site. Not only do I get a free Roku, but I got $120+35=$155 in credits and in the past got a free Sling finding out about that offer on here as well. I was hesitant on contacting them at first being afraid that they would give me a hassle but glad I did now.

Damm. I guess....PR subs dont get all these discounts also. I might try a local retailer to see if they give me the free roku box

I called on Sunday afterrnoon, the 15th, and it was here Wednesday morning the 18th. Call 'em!

Yea I would call them again.Pretty sure they quoted me 5-7 business days for shipping.
 
I waited two weeks for mine. Called back today and they said it was never shipped out. I asked about the $35 credit, never received that either. Operator talked to a sup and then came back and said my package did not qualify (Latino Dos Max), but because I am a good customer they will send one out. :rolleyes:

I explained to the CSR that Latino Dos MAx does indeed have AMC in the package, but it sounded like he was just telling me what his sup told him to.

In other words, Dish screwed up again, and made up some BS excuse. They said they will make it right (if it shows up).

I did not have a hissy fit and demand it be sent next day, but I guess I could have, eh???

My Roku player did not come with an HDMI cable.
