Did not enjoy this college football season

And the Big 10 had no problems when they wanted a Michigan-OSU rematch.

At least the SEC has been consistant in their playoff stance.

I call BS as most of the Big 10 people I know didn't want a Michigan-OSU rematch either.

I certainly didn't...I was afraid we'd lose. Then Florida happened...shows how much I know. Be careful what you ask for...you just might get it!

Well I watched a lot of the game, and LSU's offense did not look great to me. Jefferson had an awful game, and a lot of the missed passes were NOT forced by the defense. Receivers were open. He missed them.

Jordan Jefferson is one of the least talented QBs LSU has ever had in the modern era. He showed that last night. And his backup Jarrett Lee wasn't any better. The last 4 years have been plagued by these two. Hopefully that will end next year.

But on a positive note, LSU finished # 2, and deservedly so, yet still had the most wins of all the 1 loss teams, defeating the eventual Orange Bowl Champion, Rose Bowl Champion, and BCS Champion! Says a little about the current system I guess. ;) :D

Who was the guy who beat the Buckeyes? Was that Flynn?

Yes it was. Kid never got much credit for doing something even the great and talented Jarmarcus Russell (I say that with sarcasm obviously) couldn't do...Win a championship.

Bama's defense beat up bad offenses all year.

Can't call them best defense of all-time: other than Arkansas, did not play/beat a top 60 offense. CUPCAKE CITY!
I wont say they are the best all time, but statistically and "tale of the tape" certainly puts them in the discussion.
Call it beating up on cupcakes if you want, but the Bama D was legit. To say they were not, and were a product of a perceived weak offensive schedule is a stretch at the very best.

I agree.

At least LSU's won a football championshipin your lifetime, so you have that to fall back on.

I think most people think the 'bama defense is legit. It's when the claims of 'best of all time' start that you have to look at the opposition and say 'wait a second'.

Check the archives, we actually had a huge discussion about it here. Most of the Big Ten people here at the time were arguing for it. Fortunately the Rose Bowl shut people up.

I know a ton more big 10 fans outside here. From what I remember it was mainly Michigan fans that wanted it here.

:blah: :censored::censored:

The Big 12 and sec have been pretty much equal the past several years and it is pretty much a given, even among the media that the Big 12 overall was tougher this year. LSU and Arkansas are the only teams in the sec that had a tough schedule.

I don't have a problem with Alabama, they're a good team probably the best this year, but they didn't really play anyone to prove that. What I have a problem with is all the politicking and the excuses the sec comes up with to try an justify bama getting in.

Losing late in the season is a problem with the bcs. Everyone has a bad night. Bama had theirs in early Nov, OSU and Stanford in mid Nov and LSU last night. The current rules are what they are, hopefully that changes for the better, because it has been getting worse for the past couple of years. The crappy rating last night shows college football screwed up this year. Nobody wanted to see that replay of snoozefest except the sec and espn.

The last time I checked this country was made up of more than the sec states. If you want to be crowned the national champs, you should play the best teams from the entire nation.

I sorry but the SEC and Big 12 have not been "pretty much equal" in fact have not been equal in any way the last several years. The SEC proved that with there records against the big 12 and the beat down OK and Texas got when they thought they could "out offense" the SEC in the title game..

I do agree we need changes and Id rather LSU of whipped OKST and Alabama went to the sugarbowl and whipped stanford just to prove a point but it was what it was.

Went back and looked and there were only 4 people that even stated that Michigan should have a rematch with OSU and one of them is an OU fan. Hardly most of the Big Ten people around here.

I have absolutely nothing to back it up but I remember a lot of message board posters at other sites that were for it as well.

Not that it matters. ;)

I may be be wrong but I believe the Big 12 is 8-8 against the sec during the regular season for the last 10 years. Can't get much more equal than that. Especially considering only georgia and arkansas wanted to leave the south and play in a big 12 stadium and arky didn't even do that since jerryworld is considered a neutral site for the A&M games. Bowl games thats a different story. Big 12 has sucked it up in bowl games before the last 2 years.
