Decades adding more affiliates

But this will be the 1st time it has happened on WCCO as it being a O&O it never had subchannels until March when it added Decades
SO You never had that NONSTOP programming or CBS Local on WCCO 4.2 like with the NBC OTS before they landed Cozi....I would have thought that the when the subchannels came back around 2007 that the OTS stations all had that.

OK I'm going to put my smart ass hat on here ;)

Tonight Decades (but just here in Minneapolis) will have the BEST programming they've had. Since the Vikes game is on WCCO (its on NFL Network but in Phoenix and Minneapolis its on local stations) so they are pushing the Thursday night prime time lineup to Decades.

Which of course got a lot of people mad that dont have access to Decades (satellite or their cable company)
I apologize if your a Viking fan......but it looks like Phoenix beat Minneapolis in a close one yesterday.....So I guess Decades moment of glory goes back to boring and normal...

negative. The CBS O&O's never had subs until 2011. There was to be a 24/7 newschannel type thing but only NY & Philly took it. The other 14 O&O's (12 markets....Minneapolis has 3 O&O's CBS) added Decades but it was a staggered rollout in the soft launch of Decades (which started in January). Minneapolis didnt get it until March and even then it was staggered. WCCO got it first then a couple weeks later the 2 satellite stations (KCCO & KCCW) had it added.

Good thing that Decades is a Joint Venture....If it was just a cbs O&O, I'd be crying because we'd never see it........Thankfully for Weigel......

Ownership has nothing to do with it. LiveWell Network is owned by ABC yet it was on other stations. Cozi is owned by NBC yet its on other stations. Just like your favorite syndicated programming can be on NBC in your area whereas its on ABC here these subchannels are syndicated. Whoever wants to sign the deal for it can have it.

Through The Decades is like past events from the 50's 60's 70's...
correct. Its a time capsule of what happened on that particular day (not just 50's-70s). Here is the example for Monday 12/14 (per the schedule)

On December 14, Through the Decades turns back the lens of time on the day in history when Saturday Night Fever enjoyed its world premiere, the Federal Trade Commission approved AOL’s merger with Time Warner, a massive blizzard struck northern New Mexico and the Dayton Accords were signed in Paris

Those particular items will have news clips and such. They also talk about who was born on that day, who dies on that day, and what other "big" events took place that they didnt have newsclips for (like stuff from the 1800's)

Like I say Fridays they seem to do a "week of" because todays was the folllwing
On December 11, Through the Decades turns back the lens of time on when a group of masked thieves pulled of the Lufthansa heist, the first man eating Tsavo lion was taken down, the remake of classic rat pack film Ocean’s Eleven opened in the U.S., hundreds of Japanese fighter planes made a surprise attack on the American naval base at Pearl Harbor and John Lennon was assassinated.

Well we all know the last two were on Dec 7th and Dec 8th and they were prominently featured on those dates

today they actual have some decent programming on (mainly sports stuff)

But I noticed a "glitch" in the programming the other day. They had "Greatest American Hero" on. But instead of the same show on 4 times (since its a 6 hour loop) they showed DIFFERENT episodes. It was season 2 episode 1-4

But MacGyver (which was on after it) was the same show all 4 times

I see their "marathons" (I refuse to call them binges....you binge on food, not on a TV show ;) actually are a smidge better than previous ones (having 3 "That Girl" marathons in like 6 months really pissed people off)

16th & 17th is Hill Street Blues
23rd & 24th is Kojak

I want the Celebrity Bowling one again...that was AWESOME!

I was surprised when WBAY-TV 2-3 did not pick this up after Live Well Network left us. Instead, all they did the day that they were supposed to launch was put up a fake test black and white test pattern screen with a message reminding us that WBAY-TV 2-3 would be back someday. That day has passed, and months later, Media General launched Ion in its place.

I'm really hoping Nexstar will launch Decades on WFRV-TV 5-2 Green Bay, Wisconsin and WJMN-TV 3-2 Marquette, Michigan in the future. I've read that Nexstar is becoming more open to adding extra digital subchannels recently. Not only that, but WFRV-TV (CBS) 5 of Green Bay, Wisconsin and WJMN-TV (CBS) 3 of Marquette, Michigan are sister stations that use the same style of branding as well as similar color schemes and logos. I would love to see the subchannel launch in both those markets simultaneously, although WJMN is an hour ahead of WFRV.

yeah that was kinda odd that they didnt put Decades on after they pulled the plug on Live Well
(funny thing is on their facebook page...LWN...folks are still asking when new episodes are coming or when are you coming back to ______ city")

I see today Decades is doing different shows of Tarzan today
Usually the shows are the same across all 4 "loops" but at 10:30 this morning was s1 e1
at 4:30PM is s1 e2
10:30 is s1 e3
4:30am is s1 e4

They did this the other week with Greatest American Hero (but not McGuyver)

KPVI-DT2 Pocatello/Idaho Falls, ID adding Decades "soon"

6-1 NBC
6-2 is blank right now
6-3 Cozi

locally owned

Supposed to launch on our 50.3 in Lafayette but I was told the station is a two channel max. Well I said 50.3 had Retro and Soul of the South before and you have two audio channels. They couldn't say nothing. I'll keep asking but I think it will launch later on in the year or a fake thing like WBAY did.
