D* Had a Surprise for me

I got a email Thursday saying I need to connect to D* website and let them know how many B-Band Converters I needed them to send me. I also asked how long before I'd have to upgrade to the HR20 and they said,, "The new channels that are coming out in Sept will be mpeg4" and my HR10 would not be able to pick them up, only the channels I receive now It will get, and I would have to pay 199.00 and tax and shipping for the HR20, I have one in my bedroom allready, so I ordered the 2 B-Band converters for it. At least they are free.

Call Directv directly and ask for retention and see what deals they have for HR20's. Most folks have been able to do better then 199.

I bought two HR20-100 for 99 each and a total of 211 with tax for two receivers. I didn't push it as DirecTV had a cost and I thought it fair to pay a 100 each. Maybe I could have done better at the retention desk but I'm happy with the deal I got. The only problem is were or what can I do with the old HR10-250 tivos?

my HR 10 died... they sent me an HR20, I called to order an HR20 (no retention) and got it for the shipping fee.
