i would like to get the portugese channel (rtpi)
what do i need for a reciever and dish ?
got a dishnet pan and lnb ,dont care about the other channels
doing this on the cheap

Hello, any basic KU FTA MPEG2 DVB system will pick up RTPI on AMC-4, you may need a slightly bigger dish than a standard 30" dish, but its a great channel and I have seen one or two soccer games there. Check the link below for the coordinates....

Let me know what BIG city you are near and I can give you all the angles you need to point your dish at the AMC-4 satellite, its at the 101 deg. orbital position exactly the same place where DirecTV's main satellite is! (your dishnetwork dish will not work for RTPI)

You would enter the coordinates I gave you in my first post into the receiver point the dish using the angles supplied and you should soon find the satellite, there are plenty of tips and hints here at the FTA forum, and all the guys here will help you get set up, good luck.

you would set the dish as such
elevation 32.7
azimuth 174.7 (including -10 for deviation)
skew (tilt on the LNB) 3.2 to the right

The link you can put your latitude/longitude and you'll get a little better coordinates if your outside of the Peg (listening to Power 97 out of there...love the station)

Looking at a mp, your azimuth would be the same...your elevation will be a little lower
Since the link I provided doesnt do postal codes, it might be a little tougher, unles you know your latitude & longitude.

Radio Canada French
Native radio
Arctic radio...that one sounds funny

damn...not much for variety...you might want to hook that directTv dish up to 91 for expressvu. There are some radio stations on there
