I was looking to buy the BSC621 to use it for Cband and Ku but I have read many bad stories about it that I have decided to buy a Corrotor II Plus to install it on a 240 cm Fortec Prime focus dish. The equipment I have is a 9200HD Pansat, V-Box II Motec.
My questions are:
1- Can I use a single cable to get a signal for Cband and Ku? I understand I need a switch A/B : C/Ku if this is correct wich switch shall I use?
2- Can I get both Cband/Ku linear and Circular signals with lnbs attached to my corrotor?
3- Will my V-Box II Motec move my dish and also change polarity to switch from CBand to Ku? How should I make connections for this to happen?
4- I have a Star Track PR24 and a VonWeise same same size to move the dish wich one is better to use with my dish?
Thanks

Can I get both Cband/Ku linear
The Corrotor II Plus is only a Feedhorn, did you buy LNBs too?
I don't know if it come with an insert for Circular

Yes, You can use a DiSEqC Switch to control C to Ku, not polarity

Will my V-Box II Motec move my dish and also change polarity
No, you will need to use the Star Track PR24 to control polarity.

My local sat guy told me he recommends the Geosat lnbf for c/ku over the dms one.

For the corotor II plus if you have a diseqc switch outside then you can have one cable coming in to a receiver, the domestic feed is for linear c/ku the wideband feed is for linear c/ku and circular ku, I use a corotor II plus wideband on my dish with Norsat lnb's.

Thanks for your responses...So I have clear the following:

1- I will use a single cable comming to my receiver if I use a diseqc out
2- I can switch Cband/Ku both circular and linear using corotor II plus wideband (I will get one of those with Norsat lnbs)
3- V-Box II Motec will move my dish but have to use my Star Track PR24 to control polarity
4- Star Track PR24 is better than a VonWeise

Is all the above correct?

Well you can pass big dish ribbon cable, then you will have all coax in the house, and your wires for the servo motor, if you have a analog receiver then I would use that to control the polarity and move the dish, and slave the dvb receiver to it, there are still many analog feeds,

What is the Star Track PR24? also the Von weise motor should be fine, 24" would be good.

Elzipa, you can go either way, me myself I have 2-10-foot dish both are the same except for the mounts, (Channel Master), on 1 have a BSC-621-2 on other Chaperral Ortho w/norsat lnb's. now the 1 with the 621 feed it don't miss ANY transponders that the ortho feed gets on the ku-band, now have stronger quality levels with the ortho feed, but not by much about 10 points higher. now on C-band it is just the reversed the 621 produces more signal than the ortho feed does about 4 to 5 points. all in all those 621 work very well providing that they are set up right.

you also need to look at the easyest operation of that set up, with a V-box an 621 just call up a satellite it goes to it on the right polarity an channel changing from vertical to hoz pansat will control all.

now when you use another c-band receiver to move the dish an change polarity it becomes little harder to work, now I have done it that way for years but my wife was always lost, now with the Pansat running its owen 10-footer with a 621 she runs if fine.

an the Von weise much better actuator model # V-76 is their 24inch.

1 last thing unless you already have that 8-ft fortec dish an are planning on tunning DVBS-2, I would realy think about going at least to a 10-foot dish, you will be much happyer in the long run.
Good Luck on the Install.

No I do not have an 8ft yet but planning on ordering soon... some one tolme a solid dish is better than a mesh..oviously it depends...

I got the two actuators from a couples of guys did not use BUD anymore see pictures below...wich to use?

Corrotor II Plus Wideband

I have one more question to go ahead with my set up... Hope to get one from last post above still... Anybody recogniza Star trak actuator which to use?

The question is I have the conection in the attached image for my V-Box, Pansat 9200 and Corrotor II Plus Wideband. Alll seems to connect and work properly but I do not know how to connect my Servo Motor with this set up anybody please.

I thought the "Star Trak" was an Analog Receiver, not an actuator.
You need some type of receiver that can control polarity via Servo Motor - 4DTV, Analog, or some of the older Pansat receivers to name a few.

Thanks Lak7 for your response... so in this case better not to buy the V-Box ...an analog receiver instead?

Which receiver can storage more positions I read most of them stored only about 20 positions...

alternate route

If you insist on going with a feedhorn that requires a servo , then another solution is a new Gbox from Sadoun, which I think is to be called the 4000.
It's not available yet, but if you'll search for a discussion here on the forum, you'll get the picture.
It will control both your dish-mover motor, and the servo motor.

I'm not up 'n running yet, but based on my research, I've bought a dual band LNBf from SatelliteAV, the CK-1.
It's voltage controlled for polarity, and you can put a diseqc switch out by the dish to bring in one cable, if desired.
My decision was based on some success LinuxMan reported with one a while back, on his BirdView.

Some of the older Pansats would do skew on a CoRotor and operate a 22 khz switch . Do not know if yours will ?

God bless

Will the CK-1 do both C/Ku Band circular and linear?

I believe so, but switching between Circular and Linear in not automatic, you insert a small piece of plastic into the mouth of the feedhorn. Same goes for the BSC621.

Yea,.. I would need a ladder to change polarity :D Not a good move!

That was one of the reasons I went to Corrotor ll Plus

Cheers

Circular and Linear are wave formats.
Polarity is Horizontal to Vertical for Linear, and Right to Left for Circular.

Thanks for the links ....Understood :) .... Circular and Linear my mistake

I will be looking to find a receiver to move my dish and servo motor instead of buying the V-Box and will be ready to go.
