Pansat 7000HD, Coolsat 8000, and the Neusat SP8000 are all suppose to be HD, they have been saying they are coming out for about a year now, no one has seen them yet, so I guess we must wait, the new Pansat 2800A is out, nothing special and no HD.
well i also did a search from a major search engine and it listed two sites but when you goto both of those sites they are just about setup the same way and have locations in the same towns and list the same phone # on each web ... so it did look fishy and haven't seen anything about a CS8k

Pansat 7000 HD will be out in March 2007 for sure is what I got from the horses mouth from the CEO of Pansat USA in Calif cuz I had to go there to Sun Valley, Ca to get some units fixed and happen to see and talk to the CEO Kim there and he told me that Pansat will have their HD unit out in March 2007.
In addition to feeds, there's the PBS content on AMC-3. As more and more HD content is produced, I would think that we'll see more HD in the clear up there. It's already getting popular on the web.
When the HD boxes do come, they won't come cheap. The hack community is going to be 'all over' these boxes, besides us legit users.

dont hold your breath, all the major manufacturers have been talking HD for years, none have yet to release anything.
I didn't understand the (Europe @ 50hz) part... are they saying that it ONLY supports 50hz framerates, or supports them as well as North American 60hz rates?
Given that is is supposedly ATSC, it should be compatible with the North American standards though...

If it doesn't do 4:2:2, and there is no mention of it, it's about useless with so many feeds being 4:2:2.
It looks like something I'd be all over... but it sure doesn't 'look' Coolsat. It looks like a Viewsat.
The specs don't mention DVR functionality but the fine print on the front reads:

It just seems kind of fishy. Add some kind of guide via the Internet and maybe a QAM tuner and they'll sell 'em to folks who could give a crap that it does DVB too if it's the real deal.
