For other VS Ultra owners, and prob applies to other receivers too>
Remember to clean up the trnnsponder list once in a while, haha. My rec
wouldn''t store anything on Gal17 just now, and took me a few min to figure it out. Deleting old feeds from the channel list isn't enough, you have to go into the tranponder list and wipe those TPs out that have "0" channels assoc with them too. After deleting 37empty TPs my rec works correctly again.
The symptom for mine is : Will scan and find channels, but will not store them if there's too many empty TPs in that particular sat's list. I had always thought it was just total memory used, but this Ultra seems to have Xamount allocated to each satellite you have stored.

I've been there and done that.....!
It's called "Al's Hammer Disease", because Al wants to grab his Hammer and beat the heck out of the receiver!

I agree-there oughta be a new option for all receivers "Delete empty transponders" instead of just factory default where you lose everything.
And yep I know about channel master but I don't think it works well with
viewsat's channel format/file format yet so I am reluctant to try it.

I learned this trick a few years ago by accident with my Fortec Lifetime Ultra. Long before I knew of forums like this. Every once and a while a factory default worked wonders to take out the trash. My Pansat 2700a suffers from this also.
