S sparc SatelliteGuys Pro Jul 24, 2006 1,721 13 Aug 1, 2012 #2 turning the hopper/joey off and on just puts it into standby. They are basically always on. Red button reset is the standard version. Unplugging is rarely needed unless you run into problems that even the red button doesn't seem to take care of.
