Pepper: i am guessing it is either a contractural thing, or technical. I would like to know which one so I know whether to wait for the technical issue to be resolved, or complain to the local station to get them to sign the contracts.

I don't really know. Sometimes it seems like a person, sometimes it seems like a machine. Maybe it's just a stupid person. You know how they ALWAYS have you reboot the receiver? Once they told me to do that and tell them when it was finished. I told them it had finished about 3 seconds later. They never questioned how the silly thing could have rebooted that fast - they just continued along with their script!Are there actual people at the other end of this thing, or is it just some horribly broken artificial intelligence system?

I'm hoping you can tell me why WPMI-DT and WJTC-DT were not included in today's new high-definition local channel launches by Dish Network. Today Dish launched WEAR-DT, WKRG-DT and WALA-DT for local subscribers.
I live in Satsuma, and WPMI-DT is the only digital station in the market that doesn't come in reliably with my relatively large amplified outdoor antenna. So the lack of it on my Dish subscription is doubly frustrating, added to the fact that we watch WPMI more often than the rest of the locals combined.

Maybe there was a technical glitch. If they are pulling the signal off-air and have as much trouble with it as I do, I could see that happening.We are a bit puzzled also. It was our understanding that we had an agreement in place for the sat companies to carry our HD signals when they had the capability. We are checking with our corporate management and Dish to see why we weren't added with everyone else.
Well, since the powers that be on this web site were reporting days ahead of this that NBC was not coming, I had to assume it was contractual.. Not technical. Especially since it was uplinked.. So I guess now we wait and see just what or who the culprit is.
Apparently the agreement was with Clear Channel and they are now owned by Newport TV. I won't hold my breath.We were just sold and that may be the holdup but all those decisions aren't made at the local level. But hopefully it will be resolved quickly. FYI, they don't have any problems receiving our digital signal because they've used it on a few occasions when we've had problems with our analog transmitter. Of course their antenna is about 100' up on a tower at WALA.
