I currently live in Chicago half of the time and in Phoenix half of the time, I was wondering if I were to get Dish Network @ my Chicago home, with the correct equipment would I be able to get the Chicago HD stations when I'm down in Phoenix? Would I be able to just buy a second dish and install it on my Phoenix home and then move my receiver each time I go from house to house?

Currently I don't have Dish (used to many years ago), and I would really like to be able to get the Chicago locals (especially the HD) when I'm down at my Phoenix home.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Technically you would have to subscribe to the locals where ever your living at, wether it was chicago or phoenix at the time your there. But yes if you just up and took your reciver and installed a dish pointing at 129 you would be able to get those LILHD because those channels are on a conus tp. In the future that may change as the channels may move to a spot beam TP cauzing the inablity to recive those markets HD LIL with out physically being in the market.

Thank you for your reply, two additional questions:

1) What type of dish would I need to have installed?

2) Aren't the Chicago local channels part of the distant locals package, and if so doesn't dish network also consider the Chicago HD channels part of the distant local package?

1) to get all the hd programming and normal dish programming (d1000), for chicago hd only (d300 at 129)

2) Yes the Chicago local channels (SD VERSION!) are apart of the distant locals package. Currently there is NO Distant HD package.

The only channel currently carried in such a fashion is CBSHD out of NYC and LA. You have to be in a O and O station (owned and operated) to recive that channel. Chicago is a O and O market, not sure about Phoneix though. Oh btw WELCOME TO satguys and feel free to make your self at home :) were here to help so feel free to post at any time :)

From today's retailer chat:
Second location/vacation homes policy :
Customers who have a Vacation Home or Second Fixed Location can set up an account to receive DISH Network services

>Customers will NOT be allowed to share receivers between their primary residence and any other fixed location on a single account

>The customer will be required to create a separate account for the Second Fixed location/Vacation Home. This account will be allowed unlimited seasonal downgrades or service on this account

Got a DISH Package and excited ..but...
