Hi, I'm new to the forum and frustrated. I have a dish remote 20.0 IR And I've been reading how to change the default volume from the tv to the aux device. It sounded easy. I followed the steps multiple times and it doesn't seam to be working. Every time I test it, I hit the volume button and the tv mode light flashes rather than aux button and the volume doesn't change.

Any suggestions why this doesn't work for me? Thank you very much for your time, Jon

Its an onkyo reciever. I have the remote programmed to operate it already in aux mode but I need to hit the aux button in order to adjust volume. Currently by default, the volume controls the volume of the tv rather than the onkyo while the remote is set to sat. I have read how to change the volume default from tv to aux but for some reason its not working for me .

Thanks for the replies....what you suggested is what I've been reading online as well. I just tried that method again & it still doesn't work. Is there some bone headed mistake I could be making?

If it's a 20.0 remote, that's how it's done.
Try programming for tv first then to aux again. Same process but with tv mode button.

Thanks again. I tried at least 10 more times today without any sucess ........ Just now I figures I would re read your instructions & try once more. For whatever reason it worked this time & now I'm happy! Thank you for your help

I'm starting to think I could have a bad remote. After I fixed the aux. Issue I decided to manually change some buttons using the device remotes IR signal. The dish remote wasn't doing its part, I replaced the batteries and it worked. I was able to change 3 buttons then it stopped recording new commands again. Tried again this morning and it still isn't recording new commands. Oh well, ill keep trying. Just happy I was able to fix the volume issue . Thanks again
