Polarization explained, the wordy version
13 volts at the LNB = Vertical polarization (or Right Hand polarization)
18 volts at the LNB = Horizontal polarization (or Left Hand polarization)
Needless to say, circular polarized (pay TV) satellites use R & L, where as standard linear FTA satellites use V & H.
But, the receiver controls the LNBs the same way, using 13 and 18 volts to select between the two available polarizations.
