Polarization explained, the wordy version

13 volts at the LNB = Vertical polarization (or Right Hand polarization)
18 volts at the LNB = Horizontal polarization (or Left Hand polarization)

Needless to say, circular polarized (pay TV) satellites use R & L, where as standard linear FTA satellites use V & H.
But, the receiver controls the LNBs the same way, using 13 and 18 volts to select between the two available polarizations.

Can u guys tell me would i get 110, 119, 101 directv with a viewsat receiver cause i have a 3 lnbf directv satellite dish

nothing....DirecTv uses their own system

HI, guys can somebody tell me please I have a globecast dish i would like to know if i can add another Lnbf next to it and if i can do so what type of satellite i should looking for with that second Lnbf, beside intelsat 5 i am looking for

The second lnb is invacom and the Globedish come it's own lnbf

the invacom is a universal and the one that came with the dish is single

you really need to switch to decaf Just because someone doesn't post like 6 seconds after you do doesn't mean to bump the thread up and respond with a HELP ME thing or repeated info. People read the threads and add info if need be

now that we got the PSA out of the way

With a 2nd LNB you can get maybe 6 degrees offset from either side. So if the LNB is at 97W right now you may be able to get 91 or 103 but not much more beyond that. When you go off centre the signal is weaker because its not getting the full signal from the dish.

those are two other satellites up in the sky and they are close to 97W. If all you want is ethnic channels then 97W is the best satellite.

I903? not on that same dish. Too far away. Most you can get away from main LNB is 6 degrees on either side

ethnic channel....channel that is not one of the three major (and I know I'll probably hear it from someone) languages of North America which are English, Spanish, French

97W has a fair amount of foreign language channels on it (as you probably know by now)

would it be possible for me to get intelsat 903 and what is the setting i lived in Florida my zip is 33313 can somebody tell me would i be able to get it with my 36" dish what would be the skew if i can get it do i have to add anything to that skew

I 903 has nothing on KU Band that is aimed towards the US so no need to aim there
C-Band has some stuff but you need a 6 foot or larger dish

what does that have to do with picking up 97W and why do you keep going back to DirecTV sats? They are different things and pick up different satellites

Hi, guys can somebody tell me what to do cause i can get I5 when i plug it to the receiver i can get no Q what so ever i swing it and i even hold it off the base after word i still can't get not even other satellite which i assume will be close by but nothing at all just the S moving but the Q still .. I had that dish for a Year and Months never tried it but Today i did try it but i don't know if it's not on the Lnb which i don't want to say something i don't know about so y'all expert help me out
