Welcome to our club! 😂This is what I get when I try recording OTA on my phone on my Home LAN:
If I select a satellite channel then there’s no problem creating the timer.

Exactly what I got. Wonder why this has been going on for so long? I would think lots of folks have locals and would have discovered this and reported it.This is what I get when I try recording OTA on my phone on my Home LAN:

Maybe there is some reason why. There may be some legal technicalities involved.Exactly what I got. Wonder why this has been going on for so long? I would think lots of folks have locals and would have discovered this and reported it.
Most likely, because I know I used to do this all the time when I worked on Saturdays and there was a game OTA I wanted to record. I would fire up the DishAnywhere app, find the game in the Guide, press 🔴 and the Event Timer was created. Although the last time I did this was probably over a year ago. There may be some legal technicalities involved.
Looks like you will have to create all your timers from the receiver itself and then you can watch them on the app once they record. This is what I get when I try recording OTA on my phone on my Home LAN:

Yes and I found once you set a timer on the receiver you can then change the timer settings (start time, all episodes, etc) on the app if you need toLooks like you will have to create all your timers from the receiver itself and then you can watch them on the app once they record.
Yes, and if you're out of town for a few weeks like I am during premiere season, that really sucks! Not sure how Dish can overlook what I feel is a pretty serious issue. Have any of you reported this (that are having this issue)?Looks like you will have to create all your timers from the receiver itself and then you can watch them on the app once they record.
DISH doesn't put much into ota issues. Plus with the buyout of DISH today by ATT and then sold to TPG , I imagine that won't change in the future.Yes, and if you're out of town for a few weeks like I am during premiere season, that really sucks! I just noticed I now have H381 update (I didn't yesterday), but it obviously didn't contain anything to fix this issue
I figured at this point Dish is on auto pilot since it's running out of money so likely they are triaging what they can or want to do.DISH doesn't put much into ota issues. Plus with the buyout of DISH today by ATT and then sold to TPG , I imagine that won't change in the future.
Nope. Gave the same error and won't set a timer. To record locals when not at home.
1. Go to the guide
2. Go the show you want to record
3. within that time slot as you are on that show are two symbols, click on the information symbol
4. Choose to record the series
5 Done. It will show as set to record.

Are you doing it with OTA channels or Dish local channels?I did it before posting, no problem so don't know why others will not. I can not directly record, I have to do what I posted.

I did find something interesting using your procedure. If I tried to record an .01 channel, it would set that recording but actually set it to the .00 channel, defaulting to my satellite local. I tested it on an OTA channel that had no corresponding satellite channel and got the error. So, if you have elected to go with OTA only for locals you are SOL.GOOD CATCH. Dish locals. That receiver does not have ota.
Apparently you can record Dish locals not if OTA....
