ATSC Modulator

Here's an alternative that works for me:

I use both an audio and video matrix switcher (see sig) to send my A/V through out the house. All the A/V devices (sat recievers, DVD, etc) are in one central location and output to the switchers. The video signals leave the switcher as a component signal and sent throughout using component to Cat5 Baluns. On the TV side, I have a Cat5 to Component balun. The audio goes into a whole house amp to each room via regular 14/4 in-wall speaker wire to a wall or ceiling speaker.

I think Sling technology will be the ticket for homes not prewired for distribution. I don't know how it will handle the bandwidth for multiple HD signals at once especially over wireless LANs

An ATSC modulator would not necessarily have to come from Dish. It could be possible to use an external modulator from any manufacturer that would accept the output from the HDMI or colorstream connections on the back of ANY HD receiver.

Totally confused in Arkansas
