I live in Lucedale, MS. I've never been able to get locals here. I read in another thread on this site about people "moving" and being able to access their local channels once this was done. I'm so confused about this process though. When I called in to "move" they told me that a tech HAD to install my existing dish at the "new house" and that I couldn't do it myself.

What on earth can I do?

Call and play CSR roulette.

Also you can tell the CSR that the house has a dish already installed and you are getting a good signal on 110/119.

what i did was check to see what transponders my dish could "see". Then i set up a chat and told them that I moved, it hooked it up myself and had good signal to the specific transponders, gave them my "new" address and they did it. I did this last night and they changed my sports nets but not the locals. I will have to contact them again tonight to get that fixed. There are some other threads that discuss this topic. Just search for "moving".

What local channels do you want, Mobile or New Orleans ? Or is there a closer one ?

Both Mobile/Pensacola and New Orleans broadcast on the 110' satellite so you already "see" them. These are standard-definition only, not HD. It doesn't appear (from EKB) that either market has HD-locals on Dish yet.
