Arghhh, I am so frustrated with the H3 timers situation

I checked my guide and it updated from this morning and Forged in fire does now have a updated description. But now.... Back to the recording problem.
This is getting old.

Yes but even that doesn't work unless you are home 24 hrs a day. I check the timers in the morning, shows are scheduled to record today, get home some recorded, some didn't. Go back into the scheduled list and go backwards up the list, they are there but didn't record. Never had these problems before the guide changeover. The wife is losing patience with what she says "Whatever the problem is, the recorder...doesnt record"
maybe timer is filled, only can record 118 shows

Just finished up setting up a timer via DA while out of town. Those variable where accessible there.
Oh, and the original The Expanse timer fired up again last night!

I've been away on a trip since the 26th and I tried setting up in DA and the only option was record this, it does not allow choosing either of the New only or all episodes on the top so it is just recording that single episode only and not recording a series so I need to do a timer manually for each episode. Just wished there was a way in DA to record the entire series. Also, is there a way to see how much of the storage is used in DA?

When you get into that situation, after you have set the initial timer, go to DVR and then to timers. Find that timer, it will be the last one if you just set it, and Edit Timer. You can set it to All New from there...

Actually, that's what I already tried. Neither of the two buttons at the top of that screen is selectable for which events to record as it's not selectable. What I meant was from the dishanywhere.com website which also has a strange issue. With one program that is supposed to have 32 recordings, when I open it, it shows nothing but it shows all the recordings in List View. The DA App seems to work fine for that as well as being able to select all episodes, etc.

The whole guide is jacked. It's almost not usable. I'm really having trust issues with giving the right information and recording programs. I just keep finding new stuff that is wrong or incomplete. Just tonight A and E's live PD next week, the guide says repeat and Saturday just A and E program, but A and E tonight said a live episodes. I think I'll go with A and E explanation.
I'm so frustrated.

I'm so glad to have a streaming box that I can go to for those times the Hopper missed an event.

My guide for tonight (Friday) said TO BE ANNOUNCED till about 15 minutes ago now says A&E Network Programming from 9PM to 3AM. Much better....

There have been a couple times for some reason LIVE PD has the wrong description but I keep finding guide issues unfortunately not always the same ones. Totally agree with you I can't trust things I really want recorded will be unless I can check right at the time of the recording. It's past the time I give any kind of pass to DISH on this.

Thanks for the update. I had set up to record tonight's episode. With the change my recording timer was lost. I guess I record 6 hours of A and E tonight.
I'm getting tired of telling Dish to get it together. It is BS.

It's the same errors on Tivo too.

Which probably means we might as well get used to it. :(

It doesn't seem to be getting any better. I'm beginning to wonder if paying a little more monthly for Gracenote guide data might have been worth it. Maybe that's the end game here. Give us garbage data for a while to justify charging a new fee later when a better guide data provider can be contracted with.

Yea i get that too on comedy Central, to be announced or cc programming, so i set up the recording for that specific time. Then the day of the show, the name actually populates and it drops my timer!! Smh

You are most likely right. Dish wants more money by making a problem and charging to fix the problem. We are now into 5 weeks of the problem and no solution. You would think that Dish would put a lot of pressure to the contractor to get the guide right. But it doesn’t appear to be so.

A selling point to the Hopper is that you could look eight days ahead in the guide. Also set up your timers and your programs would be recorded. If this becomes the new norm, I see an enterprising lawyer doing a class action lawsuit for breach of contract between Dish and its customers. I wouldn’t want to see that because it just cost the customers in the end.

By the Way , It has been 17 days since a CSR told me that they would be contacting me concerning this problem. No news yet. They did say it would take a minimum a 14 days to hear back , so I am not complaining yet but its getting close.

Correct guide data is a fundamental. But I finally got an episode of Forged in Fire.

The ongoing problem now is start and stop times being wrong but I'm not sure if that is a guide issue. Mostly is the end of shows, the last 30-60 seconds being cutoff,

Other shows that start 5 minutes after the hour do not record correctly either. Pawn Stars Storage Wars and Pickers among them.

This really isn't a guide issue - if you go on the website of the channel and look at their schedule, they will show you the actual start times for each show - history, discovery, and science channels regularly start at 10:02, 10:04, etc.
and the guide I guess can only show 10:00, 10:05, etc. (5 minute intervals)

I adjust my start and endtimes for these channels

That is actually a DISH issue, for some reason DISH chooses to round the time to 5 minutes.
