any chance for a new dual tuner ota dongle?

For Omaha the list is for OTA is correct. Confirmed by executive support. I wont switch back to Dish unless my favs like Comet and H&I have guide data.
H&I has tons of star trek every night, Comet has Space 1999 and many other old space sci fi shows. I am in to that type of programming so maybe it is just me.
METV has GUide data, it has some also.
Really I want all my free OTA local and DIsh only caries the big 5.

I shifted to buying separate OTA DVR equipment. Quite happy. There are Channel Master and TiVO STBs available, as well as Tablo and others. Some relatively cheap. Why not go with one of them?

Good would be sending out the replacement first.

No, that would be better. For a product that costs $29.95 I was expecting to ship it back to them on my dime, that's what most companies that aren't attached to Amazon do. Then again I was surprise that the $29.95 included shipping when I bought it. You buy anything from Solid Signal (unless it's one of their advertised free shipping email specials) it's $9.95 shipping. You need that $4.95 widget that you could put in an envelop and slap a .50 (soon to be .55) stamp on? That will be $4.95 plus $9.95 shipping . . .

I'm not down and out, I've got the Dish module keeping my living room warm these cold days. :-) It was delivered to them yesterday (Tue) it will be interesting to see what their turn around time will be.

Huh? I've bought 2 Winegard 76cm dishes from them in the past year and both have been free shipping

Just so you know Comet tv has an app on the Roku that lets you watch the shows live as they are broadcast and you get full guide information.I just added it the other day.

You bought that on eBay, may have been from Solid Signals but you bought it on eBay. Try buying from their website. I get a couple of marketing emails from them a day. Yes they have free shipping on select items. I literally needed some sort of $4.95 combiner or something like that which was only available on Solid Signals, couldn't find it anywhere else so I was forced to buy from them and their ridiculous either $8.95 or $9.95 minimum shipping. They will charge you more for bigger items but not less for smaller items. I generally avoid buying anything from Solid Signals unless it's one of their limited "free shipping" items which are probably stuff that have been sitting around the warehouse for awhile.

Buy through their Ebay store and save yourself money

Seems like this is a bad business model. See my above statement. Example of a good business model.

They've sold 354 dishes in that listing alone. Seems like its working well for them.

You have to shop around and be the most informed consumer you can be. If something is cheaper on their Ebay store, I'll buy it there. That goes for other companies that sell on both platforms also

Then why don't they do that on their own web store? Why only on eBay and on limited items, probably the same they are selling eBay? Turns customers like me away especially since in a vast majority of times you can find the same item on Amazon for less and free shipping.

It's very common. Satelliteav.com does the same thing. Jacked up shipping prices through their own website when it's "free" on Ebay. Not sure why they do it. But why pay more?

I typically run an item through Amazon, Ebay, Best Buy and the seller's own website and then buy from the cheapest one. And Best Buy will price match Amazon.

In the case of the Air TV dongle, their own website has been the cheapsest that I've found

Nothing is free.

The reason why the shipping is free because they include it in the price. It’s so dam expensive to ship Dishes many include it in the price so they don’t have to deal with customer complaints on shipping.

Remember one thing. When I used to offer free shipping on Dishstore items, the price was included in the cost of the item with the most expensive zip code.

So any locations close to me I made money on the shipping offering free shipping. Further away locations I broke even.

Your better paying a discounted price and actual shipping, then free shipping.

What I'm referring to is a company like Winegard that offers its dish at $55 + free shipping on Ebay, then also has their own website where it's $54 + additional shipping cost. Two different animals

That makes no sense, especially after 10-12% paid on eBay and PayPal fees.

I know eBay is competitive, if someone is $2 less then people will buy from another seller

I agree with you. It makes no sense. But take the following example. On Ebay, you can get a 90cm Geosat Pro dish + LNB for $99 shipped. On their company website, you can get the dish (no LNB included) and it's $128.50! Winegard does similar pricing tricks also.

The only thing I can think of is that there are eBay people, Amazon people and people who order directly on a website.

In my house me and my dad buy off eBay all the time. My dad never uses amazon and my mom never uses eBay.

Me on the other hand uses eBay, and will only go on Amazon if I can’t find it on eBay. A matter of fact I don’t like Amazon.

They must get a lot of people who buy Direct off their website and don’t even check prices.

It’s like these stupid RV places selling tailgater antennas and satellite receivers. I would never pay those prices, but if someone is spending 200K for an RV, they can get everything from 1 place and the RV dealer will likely set it up and install it.

Way too many highway robbers on eBay for my tolerance. I'm a Amazon guy mostly.

Competition is good sometimes it makes companies act . . .

I emailed this to Dish Executive support pointing out that Directv is now uploading ALL guide data including all the Digi Nets for the Dot 3 and Dot 4 sub channels like COMET, H&I METV Laff and many more.
I also pointed out that Dish missing guide data for SOME of the Big 4 and has none of the Omaha Dot 3 and Dot 4 guide data on OTA.

Strange that they now linked a lot of OTA channels. Maybe they will do more. I know the DB was full or there were no more numbers but Directv figured a work around by doing duplicates and using I think the Spot beam or DMA mapping number also. Hoping Dish can figure it out also either via sat or internet, either way, we need our guide data, there are like dozens and dozens of free locals to get out there not on the sat feed.

Here is what Directv is offering now in Two Cities ($10 off plus free USB OTA Tuner). Plus you get all and I do mean app local OTA guide data not just the Dot 1 and Dot 2 channels like on Dish.
With Dish it is $12 off a month and buy your own Tuner and only HALF the guide data for OTA locals.

Judging by the latest uplink report, whatever dispute (or OTA guide mapping issue) that Dish may have had with the Sinclair stations seems to have been resolved. Uplink Activity Updates » Blog Archive » 1/16/19 at 3:59pm ET (v25) – 639 changes seen

From what I could tell by the uplink report that I linked, it looked like Dish had been providing a separate OTA guide data feed for those channels (rather than linking the OTA guide data to the guide data stream for the satellite-delivered version) as a way of possibly preparing for a contract dispute that would have required the satellite-delivered versions of those channels to be removed. (Dish has done this very same thing in preparation for disputes with other station owners in the past.) The changes in that uplink report simply reverse those earlier changes, restoring the link between the satellite-delivered local guide data and the OTA guide, and removing the separate OTA guide data stream. This would seem to indicate that a new contract has been reached, and there is no longer a risk of those satellite-delivered locals being pulled for awhile. Hopefully, this also means that James Long's local page (which you linked earlier) will also be updated to reflect that Dish is providing OTA guide data for these stations. While I also hope that Dish is working on adding more OTA guide data, I would not take this particular uplink report as a sign that Dish is actually doing that yet.
