It works in the USB2 port on the Hopper 3 so I’m gonna guess it’s USB2.

USB 2 is 480 Mbps. ATSC at its max is a little over 19 Mbps. Even with both ATSC tuners receiving 1080i signals, the USB 2.0 should be fine.

Ok, good. I'm trying to get that to work, but it's doing nothing. Quick question: my adapter has 2 nicks on the edge that appear to be lights. If so, do they light up when you plug it into the USB port?

You have the wrong adapter. You need the one with the wire coming out with the USB plug on the end. Products | AirTV

The one you have is for the AirTV Player only.
