any chance for a new dual tuner ota dongle?

I have 2 questions on this ota module, first is there a way to check signal without having to re-scan and second can u use the module to record local channels. I have been getting some pix and the dvr always say nothing scanned but have that option clicked yes to scan prime time tv. Thanks

In the OTA menu the list of channels is displayed and you can check signal strength there. Yes you can record your locals.

With a H3 and a 54 remote all you have to do to display signal strength is press the info key followed by the recall key.

I think that's for satellite signal strength... he's talking about OTA signal strength

When you press Info then Recall on a satellite channel it gives the channel's orbital location. When you do it on an OTA channel it gives the signal strength. You have to be careful when using with OTA because if you're in Multiview or PIP it will go full screen and flush your buffers. And of course it has to be on Live TV and not delayed or recorded. :)

You say yes to recording locals but that is not happening with the prime time recording, Do you have to do ota individually? Also where can I find a list of remote cmds for the 54. thanks

PTAT does not automatically record OTA locals. You have to set up a timer for that. PTAT only records satellite channels.

Thanks; any idea as to why I get pix or what to do about it on OTAs, when signal reads 100%.

I have a X91 high gain yagi connected through a Channel Master booster. My translators are 12 mile away (LOS) running from 576w (CBS) to 6,000 watts. I get 100% on everything too, but with another meter reading DB, the tuner does not peg the meter on the strongest translator (ABC), so I figure I am okay. I set this up hoping to get more distant signals, but since digital, I can only get my local translators to lock. If there were more powerful signals in the area, I am sure I would overload.

Obsessive yes. But I still don't have the answer to my question. Does anybody have a new style Lark dual tuner with the part # of 213502 on the label on the back of the tuner? Simple really no need to obsess over my question. If you don't have an answer no need to reply.

I've got a Dish branded Lark tuner with P/N 213293 if anybody is interested. Works fine and was pulled from a working environment.

Happy Holidays to all!

My AirTV module did a Bah Humbug on me. Instead of headed to the north pole to visit with Santa it’s gone south. I bought it on Oct 10th. Had been working great. Then a week or so ago it started having difficulties connecting to channel 10.1. There are no signal problems with the other 9 tuners in the house and even the AirTV was reporting a strong signal, it just couldn’t connect. Sometimes it could, sometimes it couldn’t.

I’ve rescanned, rebooted, put on the aluminum foil hat and stuck my finger in an outlet. Shockingly nothing has improved the situation (except that my hair is a lot curlier). After a rescan, 10,1 came in but then 15.1 couldn't connect with a strong signal. Then starting yesterday channels just go away. They all show up with a rescan and I save them to the guide. Last night I was watching Sunday night football on 12..1. During a commercial I switched to check on something else and when I went to return, 12.1 was no longer there???? It had disappeared from the guide. It wasn’t having difficulty connecting, it wasn’t there. Had to switch to the TV tuner to watch the rest of the game. Did a rescan and 12.1 came back and I put it back in the guide.

This morning, I record the CBS Morning News on 5.1and usually start watching about 45 minutes later. No recording, channel 5.1 went away . . . Was there last night . . . Did a rescan before I put in the old dual Dish tuner and 5.1 was there.

Do you suppose Dish has done some sort of software update that is screwing with the AirTV tuner? Is anyone else having this problem? Or is it my AirTV module? If so I’ll report back at how good their warranty is. So other than that Mrs. Kennedy how did you like the parade?

No issues with the AirTV dongle on my Wally. Just tested all my OTA stations.
