Antenna Suggestions

I'm a casual reader of t his part of the forum. What did you use? (I'm using VERY old 1980's RV/Boat antennas at my place...amplified..and very happy...but they were more "UHF" oriented even back then, so they're perfect now.) Fun to experiment with different antennas. I have a small "real" favorite these days on Amazon that I gave to friends in a very wooded, very difficult area of Michigan and it helped them. Curiosity about antennas always comes to the surface when I see conversations like these!

Thanks! Had heard good things about that design...always thought they had a rear reflector grid, but looking now I see not. Glad it worked for you! Enjoy following threads like this, and they're helpful to others! (like when my 80's antennas get broken or their amps die...someday down the road.)

They did. The ClearStream 4 has the reflector grid and is UHF only (it was one I tried earlier but couldn't get that one station). The new 4MAX does not have the reflector grid and is UHF/VHF. Putting them both in the same location facing the same direction, the 4MAX way outperformed the 4 on all of the stations.
