Another retrans fight. This has gotten very old

I think there is less of a delay if you go through Hulu plus than NBC online. Regardless, either works for me.

All well and good, but your reason that you would drop DISH holds no water. Again, you can get a credit for more than cost, if they even ever go dark, and if you can stream later you can stream now. I'm not sure you really intend to drop DISH, if you do it makes no sense it is over this.

I know not really the place to ask, but what about Media General and Tribune. Did they settle, extend or black out on the other guys?

They settled, which I thought they would. Was wondering if this would have any impact on Dish to come to an agreement so they wouldn't be labeled as the king of unsettled disputes. :)

Have they announced the refund amount? I haven't read anything about that. I would be shocked if it is more then the cost of a streaming service. Also, this is just the final straw. Tired of having to deal with these types of thing on a yearly basis.

Media General, DirecTV ink last-minute carriage deal
Oct 1 2015, 16:58 ET | About: Media General (MEG) | By: Jason Aycock, SA News Editor
While Dish Network and Tegna sort out their differences, Media General (NYSE:MEG) and DirecTV (NYSE:T) have come to a last-minute retransmission deal. The pact avoids a blackout on the service of as many as 71 Media General stations in 48 local markets.Media General had pointed viewers at risk of losing programming toward U-verse, AT&T's other television service -- but one that seems to be getting de-emphasized as AT&T works to integrate DirecTV. http://seekingalpha.com/news/2808406-media-general-directv-ink-last-minute-carriage-deal#email_link

Tegna, Dish extend carriage talk deadline by eight days
Oct 1 2015, 16:26 ET | By: Jason Aycock, SA News Editor
There may be a deal at the end of this tunnel: After setting up a 24-hour extension of their expiring carriage agreement, Dish Network (DISH +0.8%) and broadcaster Tegna (TGNA +1%) have now agreed on an eight-day extension to get a deal done. That goes until 7 p.m. Oct. 9. The bigger extension was done in part to ensure continuity of news coverage of Hurricane Joaquin, threatening some Tegna markets. With no deal, a blackout on Dish would hit 51 Tegna stations in 39 markets. http://seekingalpha.com/news/280827...rriage-talk-deadline-by-eight-days#email_link

Refund for what? No channels were removed. But on that basis, there should price raises each month when channels annual price goes up... Instead of waiting til Feb1 and doing a collective increase, and taking the hit throughout the year until the increase.

It's only plausible if people keep making stupid statements that contradict that.
It cost money to make money.
Its not Plausible to do monthly increases when your annual take is in the Billions.
They may be fronting money as you say, But so is the 13.8 million dish customers that are paying one month in advance.

It's not Like Charlie is living paycheck to paycheck.

That was mostly the back handed point being made. Stupid statements get stupid answers. Reminds me of a saying I like. "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes". This was towards my sister in law for awhile.
