I've been slowly getting better at aiming a 1000.2 110/119/129 WA with a TV4RV tripod, and a $10 SF-95 meter. I just purchased a used BirdDog 4 USB Plus ((c) 2011 V.1. 045U) and will try it out this weekend. I didn't get a manual but have downloaded what I believe to be the correct one and researched what I could find on the unit. My unit does not have the "With DDSI" labeling to the left of the screen and "Digital Data Stream Identification" under the screen as do all the manuals I've found online.

I'm looking for the simple "schematic information for dummies": where exactly do I connect it? On the LNB or Hopper side of the node? If on the LNB side does it matter which one of the two? I'll mainly be using a 1000.2 with single node when traveling, but I have the dual node at home. Thanks in advance ...

You want the satellite signal from the LNBF so the meter goes between the dish and the SOLO.

The preferred port is the left one (looking into the coax ports, 119). I found with my Accutrac 22 Pro that I needed the 22 KHz tone option on to insure that the 119 LNBF is electronically connected to the port you are connected to.

Thanks Brussam - that's what I suspected. I've labeled the two lines out of the LNB to the Solo as 119 and 110, and use the 119 with the SF-95. I remember your previous responses about needing the 22 Khz tone, hopefully the BirdDog does.
