Anger management (with Charlie Sheen)

Martin Sheen will indeed play the father and as mentioned earlier in the thread (post 77) he will be a regular if the show returns for the 90 episode run.

No it has not been renewed yet. The renewal comes after the initial run. FX has said it is "a lock" or "almost guaranteed" one FX exec was quotedas saying it is "very likely" but they have not renewed yet. This is a contractual commitment and always was and it has not been altered.. If average ratings for the last eight exceed some level and do not show a week to week decline greater than x% the show is renewed. If not well I suppose they could always work something out. we went through the same thing after the first two episodes aired and FX and liongate ordered new scripts----but did not actually renew.

This is a great deal for Lionsgate. they do have a clause with Charlie that cuts him off in certain contingencies but i am not sure if Lionsgate still has an order for the remaining episodes. But we have gone over this before in this thread.

Here is the most optimistc article about renewal I saw. he headline is pretty emphatic but when you read it you see that nothing has been announced. Since neither FX nor Lionsgate will tell us the details of the criteria for renewal all we can do is surmise that so far it looks like it will be renewed and we will likely hear something shortly after episode 10 airs.

Charlie Sheen’s ‘Anger Management’ Getting a 90 Episode Order - Celebs News

I think an anouncement is likely a few days after the 10th show airs. They intend to film those 90 episodes in 2 years. Wew ill see if Charlie holds up that long.

They better hurry on the filming. Charlie is looking a bit old and he is what 45 or 46? All the drinking and drugs has really taken it's toll on his appearance.

According to reports it has been renewed, although 90 episodes is a lot. Heck, that's a large enough order for Charlie to go through 3 or 4 of his own personal episodes. ;)

What makes a crazy dude like Charlie Sheen look extra crazy? A crumpled fedora. (8/15/2012)

damn.....I got the last 4 shows to watch...
uh oh...I'm becoming one of them....folks who get almost a whole season of a show on their DVR then watch them in order ;)

Too funny! I never thought I would "buy in" to this mode of TV viewing...however, we enjoyed watching the first six seasons of House over the summer on USA (didn't start watching until last year. And now that we have Showtime again, we watched season six over a couple weeks so we're all caught up. Of course, we missed seasons 3-5 but they are not On Demand and I have desire to pay to rent them. There are two new series I am going to record this fall and perhaps watch them only if they get renewed. I too have been burned by the likes of Jericho, Invasion, The Defenders, Flashforward, etc., etc., etc.

If the renewal happens (an it sure looks like it will) they intend to produce 90 episodes in just under two years. That is quick but not unprecedented in the cable sitcom world.
