Anger management (with Charlie Sheen)

Personally I think it is just so so. Not terrible by any means but just not laugh out loud funny. Maybe the chemistry between the characters will develop over time , maybe not. But I will give it a few more chances.

Great show last night loved when his ex-wife was bending over the pool table and charlie behind her I was expecting Charlies kid ir girlfriend to walk in :) So far show has been good and has been renewed for another season :)

I thought that the deal was that if the ratings for the last 8 exceeded some benchmark they would order another 90 episodes?

I think what you are referring to is a report that the producers have ordered new scripts. I don't see anything that says FX decided to renew after the first night---and that seems unlikely if the origianl deal specifically excluded the ratings of the first two episodes.

having said that the early ratings were certainly promising and ordering new scripts is probablya positive sign as well.

Okay, what is the possibility of Sheen's show moving from Fx over to Fox since they are both part of the Fox Entertainment Group (i.e., News Corp)? I wonder if there is a clause in the contract that would allow both parties to negotiate such a move should the show be successful. You gotta think those 5-6 million viewers on Fx would turn into 9-10 million viewers on the Fox network.

I think you guys were referring to stories like this one. it sure looks good for renewal but it has not happened yet.

Charlie Sheen's Anger Management Gets A Second Season?? | PerezHilton.com

As for Charlie moving over to Fox I guess anything is possible but I don't think they would be too happy abouta 90 episode commitment. Fox likes to swing that ax and shows often disappear quickly when they cancel them.

Offhand, I would be very nervous about extending anything beyond a half-season comittment to Sheen due to his epic manic-depressive swings usually triggered by his self-medicating with booze, broads and 7-gram rocks. If I were Fx I would require Sheen to show-up daily for his meds and be confined to his home (ankle bracelet) between the hours of...well, when he's not at the studio. ;)

Well the plan is to get all 100 episodes (10+90) produced in two years a la the Tyler Perry method of TV production. I too question whether he will stay motivated/sober/out of trouble long enough to make that happen but who knows maybe he has found the secret to turning an inveterate party hound into a lean mean acting machine.

I doubt it.

Ratings fell drastically this week.

S~

We knew that the first week would draw a lot of viewers who were simply curious and that some might not stick around. That is no doubt why FX excluded the ratings of the first two episodes. But those ratings are still respectable by cable standards so we will see what happens with this one.
