America's Got Talent Season 5

They all sucked except the last two acts. The little girl with the voice of a 30 year-old was stunning. The magician had a presence and style I liked. They were the only two acts I didn't zap myself.

If I have to pick two other acts to put through, the pianist (even though he missed as many notes as he hit) and the singer/guitar guy withOUT the dog. :)

Consider the YouTube acts as "wild cards".

I think youtube was just put in to have more acts to cut. Another week of programming. I would assume they probably had thousands of entries on youtube and they picked the 12 "best". Now they have a few more to add to the finals mix to be cut later.

NBC is really working to extend this show to fill in a lot of time. They need more filler.

Wow, what a voice Jackie has. Dan was entertaining. Watching Sharon react to Howie was hilarious.

Youtube and AGT have been promoting each other all season. To be honest, there's not much else on during the summer months so NBC is actually cleaning-up with so much AGT coverage. OK, I'll admit that Dan and Jackie deserved to move through to the next round, but the other two certainly did not. Oh well. On a side note, it was nice to see Quick Change return for an encore performance. Although their act gets old quickly, this is what AGT is all about.

Well I picked three of the four that went through and the fourth was down to the judges pick. The judges have picked the oposite act I would have picked every time so far. The woman singer they put through sounded like CRAP last night.
But the guy was not much better when he broke, broke my ears with flat and screechy notes.

Next week it's the "second chance" acts. The judges "favorites" that didn't make it. I really dislike the way the pop these guys in from out of the blue, but it's the "missing" week previously discussed.

I couldn't believe how horrilbe the stand-up "comic" was. You'd think he could have found one funny joke to do in 90 seconds.

The word "crap" is an overstatement if the young lady were singing in front of the local Piggy-Wiggly. However, it is an understatement being that she sang to an audience of probably 10 million. El Stinko! I cannot believe that any judge with normal hearing would push her through to the next round like she were a student in the Detroit Public School System!! Truly a horrible decision!!! :(

The best part of his acts was the closing. Listing to Howie whine about how difficult it is for a comic to be funny in a 2-minute segment is getting old. Comedians like Rodney Dangerfield would have the audience laughing in under 10-seconds.

i find it strange that they did this episode so late in the season. Seems like it would be much more fair to have had a YouTube eipisode once they started the live shows and taken the 4 people that got voted in from that into the fold at that point. Part of what really makes the show hard is the requirement to keep "oneupping" your last performance and these acts will have to do that many fewer times than the ones that have been around since the beginning.

Yep, that seem kind of unfair to me as well. Anyway, as much as I like Youtube the hype was a little over-the-top the past two nights.

Disturbing? That was amazing. The best act of all performers of all rounds.

My mom was upset by her. Given how well she sang for her age she had to have had a lot of voice lessons and if young children start with the lessons too early they will end up ruining their voice. By the time she is an adult, she risks having a very raspy voice.

She said she didn't start singing until she was 8 when she went and saw Phantom, so she hasn't been sing that long.

I think they're just trying to set up two semi-finals of 12, and a final of 8 (4 from each).

Great point. It's like seeing a small boy throw a 90 mph fastball...and expecting to see his arm fly out of its socket. Did anyone notice how she didn't sing like she did the previous night when one of the judges asked her to validate her previous night's performance? I am not saying her parents are risking her singing voice, but I would not be surprised if they were. Physically watching her sing with such a mature sounding voice reminded me of seeing a grown man (i.e., Michael Jackson) singing like a little girl...minus the grotesque appearance of course. I just hope this delightful girl isn't pushing things too quickly.
