my question is... does the SG2100 motor come with the serrated u-bolts for pole mounting or do i need to buy those separately?

Comes with the U-bolts, I use a 2" pole to mount it on good luck!

i'm actually going to mount it on my roof using the mounting arm that came with my dish.

I've had the dish up several times and explored around the feeds, but manually moving the dish was becoming a pain. Now i can;t wait for my sg2100 to get here!!!

The U-bolts that come with the SG2100 are good for a few lock downs and loosenings ... but they are not hardened. The metal stretches and the bolt will break when you back off the nut. Most installers who have a few motor installs under their belt carry backups for these. Make sure that you don't put that extra twist on the wrench until the motor is tracking perfectly .... or you'll be off to the hardware store.

If your receiver supports USALS, install the motor with USALS activated to find at least the first bird rather than using DiSEqC 1.2. Using USALS for initial setup will insure that the motor azimuth is correctly set and will make tracking the arc much easier.

oh yeah i am planning on using usals.

I'm going to take pictures of the entire process, since i have some unique restrictions.

I live in a mobile home so my roof is metal. I can't use a stud-finder on the roof because it thinks the whole roof is a stud! I live in colorado so we get a lot of moisture in the form of snow and rain, so I don't want to poke any holes.

I went to Lowes yesterday and bought a round piece of wood 2 feet in diameter. I also bought some heavy duty roofing adhesive. The plan is to bolt the base of the mounting arm for the dish into the circular piece of wood, and to glue that down to the roof with the heavy duty adhesive.

The wood is not rated for exterior use so I plan on sealing it first. Finally after everything is situated on the roof i'll install the motor on the arm, the dish on the motor, and then run the cables down. I'm relatively lucky that 105 is my true south bird, it will be hard to mistake that one with another.

I'll be surfing for feeds in no time!

If you use an oil based sealer the adhesive may not adhere.
