Alex Rodriguez tests positive for steroids and now ADMITS it

I'll give you that lasik surgery could possibly be interpreted as enhancement, but wouldn't rotator cuff, Tommy John, reconstructive knee surgeries, etc. be considered corrective procedures?? In other words, correcting an injury to hopefully get you back to where you were before...

Plus, all the ones you mentioned aren't illegal in the context used, unlike steroids....

But of ALL the guys that I have spoken to, about 80% stated their arms was STRONGER than before the injury! I have 3 kids I coached that all are playing at least A ball that have had the operations and they ALL state their arm feels stronger than ever. Yes, they are not illegal, but they have enhanced the performance of quite a few players.

And, of those that have had the surgery, how many had it out of necessity, because of an injury??

A week ago, would you have welcomed A-Rod back because all of his home runs would have been, "authentic?"

No. That bridge was burned a long time ago.

But we do "welcome" A-Rod back in our own way every time he's returned either with the Rangers or the Yankees. :D

Good thing I did not invest in any of Alex Rodriguez rookie cards lately like I thought about doing to resell later. I hear Alex was going to start setting records this year or next year.

Oh well...another cheater exposed...acknowledge and move on...

Who's next?

Off the top of my head, the players I would least expect to hear tested positive at some point are Derek Jeter, David Wright, Ryan Howard, Ken Griffey, Dustin Pedroia, and the midget Bill Veeck brought to the plate about 50 years ago for the White Sox.

Now, none of them would surprise me.

I for one really don't care, if the player wants to ruin there bodies, it's there fault.

Maybe they don't care if their heads blow up to the size of "Mr. Met", they get violent or their testicles shrink.

They are all overpaid a**holes who think they can't do wrong or get caught.

I know not all players do this, but it sure seems like a lot do.

How solid are the studies assessing risk of adverse consequences? Are there any? We don't know that performance enhancing substances caused Lyle Alzado's fatal brain tumor.

On the other hand...

Schwartzeneger, when asked about his steroid use, said it was OK because it was done under medical supervision. What did they supervise and how did they do it? Did they monitor his shoe size using one of those things like they do in the shoe store? Did they measure his head with calipers or with a go-no-go gauge? Did they monitor for small brain tumors and then change his prescriptions or dosages accordingly?

Curt Shilling recently said he wants all of the 104 positives to be named. If you don’t do that, then the other 600-700 players are going to be guilty by association, forever.

Can't say that I disagree with that. Reveal the rest of the names MLB.

A-Rod during an interview with Katie Couric on 60 Minutes in 2007.........

"For the record, have you ever used steroids, human growth hormone or any other performance-enhancing substance?" Couric asked.
"No," Rodriguez replied.
Asked if he had ever been tempted to use any of those things, Rodriguez told Couric, "No."
"You never felt like, 'This guy's doing it, maybe I should look into this, too? He's getting better numbers, playing better ball,'" Couric asked.
"I've never felt overmatched on the baseball field. I've always been a very strong, dominant position. And I felt that if I did my work as I've done since I was, you know, a rookie back in Seattle, I didn't have a problem competing at any level. So, no," he replied.
So, A-Rod is a liar and a cheat!

Canseco Says More Juicy Tales Coming....

Jose Canseco's attorney told The NY Post last night that not only does the Alex Rodriguez steroid report act as "substantial confirmation" of Canseco's past claims, but that there are going to be future revelations regarding Rodriguez and others.

JOSE SAYS MORE JUICY TALES COMIN' - New York Post

It seems as if Jose Canseco is the only one that's willing to reveal the truth after all. And IMO, in order to start the healing process on this whole mess, that's exactly what needs to be done. Reveal everyone, or else everyone else clean will become guilty by association.

For anyone outside of NY or those of you who don't read the Post, I thought today's cover was rather amusing. :)

Do you think this is an overreaction, or what??

Cut him loose - no matter the cost.

As difficult as it is to imagine eating $270 million, the Bombers will be making a statement, not just for the Yankee brand but for baseball as a whole.

They will be applauded for it.

The Yankees operate under two basic tenets: The relentless pursuit of championships and the fierce protection of their brand. If they are going to remain true to both, then they have no choice but to sever ties with Rodriguez.

Eating $270M worth it for the Yankees to finally ditch A-Rod
