Would you have as many dimes as Eck had career saves?
Just maybe. I was present at Fenway when Eck won his 20th game in 1978 against the Blue Jays. I've always been a big Eck fan- both on and off the field. :up

I prefer the fact that Remy is less of a Homer, but I prefer Ecks style. For the Sox fans here: What do you think about the job Dennis Eckersley is doing in his backup stint in the booth?? I think he is too much of a homer and needs to polish his skills a little more.
The Yankees-Rangers game I went to today was awful. The Rangers should have had a promotion to let some fan come in and pitch to the Yankees because the guys they had did not get it done. And someone should test A-Rod for steroids again because he already admitted he juiced when in Texas. Well A-Rod was back in Texas and he went 5-5.
I actually live here. NC is where I grew up. It was a fun weekend. Took in the Byron Nelson yesterday and the Rangers today.I didn't know you took a trip down to the Lone Star State.

Don't know about that yet. FYI The Cowboys Stadium is nearly done and looks awesome. It's right next to the Rangers Ballpark. The game I really want to see is when Roy Williams brings the National Champion Tar Heels out here to play Texas. They're supposed to play in the Cowboys Stadium this Dec.Since you're a NC guy living in Texas, do you think you'll be able to attend the Panthers/Cowboys Monday Night Football game?
FYI
When Eck pitched his no-hitter, Jerry Remy was in the on-deck circle in the bottom of the ninth. With the count on the first batter 0 and 2, Eckersley saw Remy looking his way and pointed at him and yelled, "Your next, a$$hole!". Both Remy and Eckersley have confirmed that story.
I've heard conflicting accounts of what happened during the last at bat. Eckersley was giving a load of crap to the final batter, who kept stepping out of the box, and according to Eckersley, he just yelled to him that the crowd wanted to get this over with, but an unconfirmed version I once heard was that the umpire stepped out from behind the plate to warn Eckersley, who seemed about ready to melt down, and according to that version, Eckersley yelled back at him, "Hey fatso, get back behind the plate. Do you think these people are all cheering for you?"
And oh yeah, are we going to do something about Papi today Francona??? It's time!
The Red Sox have dropped David Ortiz to sixth in the batting order, with J.D. Drew moving up to the struggling Ortiz's familiar third spot.
Also, Mike Lowell is out of the lineup tonight, with Kevin Youkilis moving across the diamond to third base.
Red Sox
1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. J.D. Drew, RF
4. Kevin Youkilis, 3B
5. Jason Bay, LF
6. David Ortiz, DH
7. Jason Varitek, C
8. Jeff Bailey, 1B
9. Julio Lugo, SS
-- Jon Lester, LHP
Keeps the L R L R intact at the top of the order....They were speculating on 'EEI this morning that a simple Papi-Drew switch would make the most sense (leave Youk, Bay and Lowell alone).
fwiw, Ortiz is 1-1 tonight with a double game in the 4th inning so far .... no score.
That umpire is terrible. Why do more and more umps look to become part of the action??The home plate umpire has thrown both catchers and both managers out of the Twins-Red Sox game today.
