AL EAST 2009

I don't ever recall seeing similar tossings like that in a single game before, let alone in the same inning.

I was thinking the same thing. BOTH managers and BOTH catchers get ejected in the SAME inning, and it wasn't because of a fight between the two teams.

I swear to God, if Lugo f'ed up yet another douple play, I was going to smash my TV to pieces!

My Gawd Theo, there HAS to be better than this out there!

Bill, Im sure you long for the days of Orlando Carberra or Nomar, right. Its like going from the penthouse to the outhouse!!!!

May I suggest calling up their minor-league SS?

They already did that (Gil Velasquez), problem is he can't hit.

Between Nick Green and Lugo, the defense at SS is killing the Red Sox.

Hopefully when Jed Lowrie comes off the DL, he'll stabilize the position.

I long for the days of Alex Gonzalez who only spent one year (2006) here.

He was a gold glove caliber shortstop, that hit an occasional homer for you.

Another health scare for Tito :(:

Francona: 'I thought I was going to pass out'
By: Rob Bradford
Red Sox Manager Terry Francona said that he felt fine today after experiencing high blood pressure on Thursday. Francona said "when I was on the field I thought i was going down....I thought I was going to pass out...I felt fine today." Francona was thrown out in the 7th inning after arguing with the homeplate umpire. Fracona said he has never experienced anything so sever in regards to his blood pressure like he did Thursday.

Bottom line: I'll be happy with a 5-5 road trip, because those are three tough places to play.

Sox now 3-4 on their road trip after defeating the Jays 8-2. Youk went deep twice, Pedroia and Bay also went yard.

The Sox will have to take two of three from a hot Tiger team if they want to finish with a .500 trip.

Funny that Ellsbury hits .300 with a hit a game for nearly a month and steals successfully about 95% of the time, but management determines he is a liability batting first because his on-base percentage is too low.

So, who'll be the first starter to get bumped out of the rotation to make room for a younger arm, Wakefield or Penny?

I think that's their new lineup (at least for now) against lefties.

I doubt it will be Wakefield as he's been their best starter thus far (last start notwithstanding). I think they're trying to trade Penny for an infielder.

Smoltz is supposed to be back by mid-June, and Buchholz is DOMINATING in AAA.

Banned by us?

Yes, because I was on a 2 week ban for arguing with Scobuck(who has seemed to disappear). He sent me taunting PM's over at AVS Forum, so I created a new user name to ask why I was banned, for that I was banned permanently, I just asked to be reinstated and Scott graciously obliged.
