AL Central 2010

It's managing for sure because with pitching inconsistency and the almost worst d in the league they shouldn't be in first. Now we wait and see if they do in the second half this year what they've done the past 3, choke it away which leyland also has to take the blame for.

So, in your mind, the Tigers are up by 1 game at the half way point and if they don't win the division, it's a Choke job ?

Sox 1/2 game out, 2 hitter by Danks. Just heard on Post Game show, in past 28 games. Sox have 25 quality starts.
As Ice said, Twins were 8 out as the break last year. KC is 8 out now. I don't see them passing 3 teams, but anything can happen. It is good to be the 'hot' team, I just hope they don't peak too soon.

Nice post Paul ... :up

I agree with most of it. :)

I too hope they make a run at Lee.
If you recall, when the Cabrera deal went down, you heard NOTHING from the Tigers till the very last minute.

DD. does his work very quietly.

Lee, Verlander and Scherzer would be very formidable and throw Porcello in there when he gets back.

I look for Bonderman to leave at the end of the year, I really like him, but he's just not got it done consistently.
For that matter the Starters have not got it done consistently.

Don't know if Damon will be back next year or not, with the diminished role of DH and spot OF'er.
I would like to see him back.

Jackson and Boesch have been GREAT.
Here's hoping they can do it year in and year out.

Jackson was in a slump for awhile went from around a .370 avg to just above .300, went on the DL and came back hitting better.
The AS break will do him good.
I was to see if his avg. picks up after the break, he looks like he could be a .320 hitter in the long run.

Tigers STILL cannot hit when they play a good/great pitcher.

Over all, I give them a B+.

Spot on with all you said above. I wouldn't worry too much about Jackson and Boesch. These kids are just naturally talented. Boesch has a model swing, one that I would use as a teaching aid. Look for both to slow down in the second half. The season is long and it grinds you down when you haven't played this many games before. Not to mention the scouting teams have enough tape on them now to start finding holes in their batting styles. Boesch may have already locked up ROY. I hope he is here for his whole career, I just love watching him play.

I don't believe Bondy will be back either, unless he has a sterling second half, same for Damon.

Brennen Boesch

I am believing that Brennen Boesch was ROBBED, he DEFINITELY should be on the ASG roster....
The guy just continues to hit and play VERY good Defense.

2 more hits tonight so far.
Currently hitting .346, with 18 doubles, 12 HR's, 48 RBI's and 81 hits and 21 walks at the halfway point of the year.
By the end of the weekend he'll have enough AB's to qualify for ALL the batting stats, not just rookie stats.

Boesch has 27 multiple hit games so far this year in about 58 starts.

WEEI's Dennis and Callahan to be simulcast live on NESN

Don't look now, but Steve Lavin is making St. John's relevant again
