AL Central 2010

Gosh saw the injury on tv this morning while on vacation hope his career is not over

I see those pesky Chi Sox lost again :)

Suddenly no word from the Chi Sox fan in the last few days ...
They only post after a winning streak...plus, they are having their hands-full with Kansas City.

Anyway, I again noticed the Tigers would occupy the 3rd position in 4 of the other 5 divisions based on their record. Is the AL Central that weak or is it that competitive? To be honest, we've done extremely well in Intraleague play and held our own against the other AL Divisions. Hmmm.

Sorry, been here all along. Even posted after they blew it in KC last night. Only Back 2 games, can be 1 1/2 after tonight with a Twins win. No panic here, still think Sox pitching staff beats the Tigers & Twins staff and that will keep them in this race for the 2nd half.

They may be in it, not like the Tigers and Twins are going on a 35-5 streak.

We just wondered where you went, I must have missed you post the other night. ;)

It's good to have a Chi Sox fan here, the only ones we don't have are KC fans so far.

We're just having fun with you for your White Sox allegiance. I actually picked the Tigers to finish 2nd in the Division which is where they will finish if they don't win consistently on the road. There is still no clear and convincing leader in the AL Central, but America loves the Detroit Tigers...and it's only a matter of time before you and Ice are proudly wearing a Old English "D" on your jersey. :)

This absolutely sucks, but it's not like we're not use to Zumaya being on the sidelines. I sure hope Joels makes another recovery and return to the Tigers, but after all these injuries I get the feeling his career is coming to an abrupt end - he will be lucky to have one or two years left. At least there was was no tendon or ligament damage being reported.

I know the Tigers have a lot of hard throwing pitchers with fast-balls in the mid-to-upper 90s. However, you certainly don't need to throw more than 90mph to be an effective pitcher. It's all about good movement on the pitches, mixing-up the pitch selection, and varying the delivery and speeds.

Anyway, I would love to see Zumaya return as a control pitcher. It's apparent (to me at least) that he will have to change his pitching style after this injury.

I agree that there is no clear cut leader in the division, just glad the Sox are making it a 3 team race. Can't ever see me in Detroit gear. But, what are the odds, move to Tn and the neighbors across the street are Detroit fans too. Behind us are Red Sox fans. ANd too damn many cars in this town that have Cubs crap all over them!

I find this new for Joel to be very GOOD, not that he's out again, but it has NOTHING to do with any shoulder issues.

I would find this to be a rather bizarre injury when you think about it, almost sounds like it a funny bone or right close to it.
I actually go to my doctor about my knee tomorrow, if I think about it, I'll ask him, it's the same doctor(s) that works on the Toledo Mud Hens.

I look for Joel to (hopefully ) come back ready for next year and give us another sparlking half year ...

You don't have to wear any other teams stuff other than YOUR team, till you LOSE a bet !

Yeah, right. This boy's only reason for being here is that 100 MPH fastball, which he will still have come next season. How do you break your elbow throwing a ball anyhow? Control pitcher? He will need a couple of more pitches, and a whole lot more control.

tonight on the local news they played an interview with Zumaya and he said his elbow felt like someone smashed it with a hammer and it took him a little time to realize what happened

WEEI's Dennis and Callahan to be simulcast live on NESN

Don't look now, but Steve Lavin is making St. John's relevant again
