AL Central 2010

The White Sox are a strange team.

Dead last in team batting average, third-most team homers in the majors, second-most in the American League.

They also have the ML HR leader in Paul Konerko.

Could this be the return of the South Side Hit Men?

His curveball looked like it was rolling off a table. This is what they payed $80M for. Got to like the last week, beat up on two playoff teams! Good job boys!

It was intresting, they had a interview with old number 47, Jack Morris at the start of the game I think and he said that once he (JV) learns "how to pitch, he can be unhittable" He was saying that JV still "Throws" the ball more then "Pitches"

I'll agree with that. Yesterday was Verlander "pitching". This kid has some more natural talent than any Tiger pitcher I ever remember, he hit 99 on the gun in the 9th inning! While he didn't look physically tired in the 9th, he appeared to be mentally tired. It was just the look on his face, you could see he was mentally spent.

Lets hope the Tigers can keep this up. The schedule has been absolutely brutal. 11 game road swing, (longest of the season), all part of 20 games without a day off. Now the Twins, and then NY and Boston. I sure hope the second half of the season is kinder to them.

Verlander "pitched" an outstanding game yesterday and I agree with Jack...JV will be awesome once he fine-tunes his skills at pitching. And the art of pitching will serve him well over his career...just look at how well Jim Palmer performed and how long he lasted after the zing in his fastball was gone.

Anyway, a big series kicking-off tonight in Minnesota.

So, Is Jack willing to share his insight with JV ?

In case you missed it.

Ernie Harwell passed away today .... maybe moments ago, just came in on FSN Detroit.

RIP Ernie,

You'll be missed ...

Very sad, MLB Network doing a "documentry" style story right now on Ernie Harwell

You will be missed :(

Twins take the 1st two games :)

by the way...where's Tommy? He's been pretty quiet lately. But then again if you look at last week when Detroit lost game 1 he had one post (err excuse) but then the next two games he posts like 20 times.

interesting....

WEEI's Dennis and Callahan to be simulcast live on NESN
