For some reason, ever since DirecTV switched their online account login from AT&T (signin.att.com) to DirecTV (identity.directv.com), I have been having to verify my account nearly every time I log in to my account, rather than just once and not again for a long time.

Is this just a normal thing for all customers on this new login system, or is it just for me? After all, my account is a little bit different from the average customer. It has a free MLB Extra Innings gift, as well as a recurring monthly credit.

Could it just be like that because of an increasing amount of compromised/hacked accounts? I never had to verify my account this much before, either through AT&T or the older system that predated AT&T's acquisition.

I have been having similar experiences over the course of the last 2-3 weeks. I am having to verify my account / ID every time, by way of one of three options on my end. Those options include two different phone numbers, and an email address. I figure that it is some sort of new enhanced security procedure being enforced, with the ever changing times we live in these days. By the way, this process applies to both my DIRECTV and DIRECTV Perks accounts.

I don't log into my DirecTV account on the web often, just now and then to see my bill, which is paid automatically. For that, I just need my userID and password. But this past week, while I was away from home I was using the DirecTV app on my phone and Roku, and had to verify my login each time i signed in.

I had issues this weekend, not being able to get in. I called, they said to go to www.directv.com/login and select create a new user id from the bottom of the screen. I then had to look at my AT&T/DirecTV and find the DirecTV account number, not the AT&T number plus couldn't use the same userID that I was using on AT&T.
